Title: Next up: Forced artificial crash by bitstamp
Post by: kwukduck on January 06, 2015, 02:54:19 AM
Bitstamp has to manipulate/force the market into a big crash to be able to honor the funds in all people's accounts, only with a much much lower bitcoin value they will be able to cover their losses.
Be prepared. When bitstamp opens their trading again the bottom will be very deep down.

The issue with this theory is that Pantera capital / Fortress has a $10MM investment in Bitstamp. Pantera capital also holds a fund with over $100MM invested in BTC. It seems illogical to further damage the reputation of Bitcoin potentially causing their fund to lose more value than the $5MM that was lost to the hack. Also, you know, it's just bad business and Bitstamp happens to have investors that see the potential of remaining as one of the leading bitcoin exchanges. It's not like $5MM is something they won't recover from organically.

This is true
It's not like Gox's $650M loss

Bitstamp is not stupid. If they use bots to cheat the market, they know US Marshals and FBI will be after them. To manipulate the price down, you bears even dare to promote crime. Lol.

Oh really? what about Mark Karpeles? does US Marshall or FBI follow his ass?
I think he is doing pretty well these years, enjoying his Luxury life and at the same time investing in bitcoin bank project and some tv programs?
Oh.. you would say he is an exception?

Yeah, because of one outlaw, you bears felt no guilt for promoting crime. If you hack and steal another exchange, the price will drop further more. Why don't you become a criminal yourself and try if the law enforcement can catch you?

Mark escaped the punishment for now, but that doesn't mean he will escape it forever. Even escaping from the law, may not escape from the God.

Oh, I forgot, low life like you may not believe in the God.

Only one outlaw? are you kidding me? what about inputs.io bitcoinica bitfloor etc..?
I heard about they are all get away with it and living quite well

as long as you wouldn't go to USA all of your life, they can't do anything to you/
and now bitstamp can't control bitcoin price, bitfinex's volume beyond it already, you may say that is the leverage,
ok, the volume of btc-e and lakebtc is also very strong, no leverage on btc-e and lakebtc, no altcoin on lakebtc

True the second largest bitcoin exchange has some market power
Especially if the coins get dumped it still feels like we don't have much downside left now.

If we're going to get into conspiracy theories, then why is nobody mentioning that the price at Stamp flatlined at 276.66?
