Do the anarchist neighborhoods (exarxeia) know anything about Bitcoin yet?

Anarchists. That is an intriguing topic.

They are specific groups of organized people who like to spend their lives into the disparagement of all the systemic values. Mostly, referring to one another as antisystemic brothers.
In my personal opinion in order to succesfully influence other people to make changes you have to declare yourself by more than just one word. There is a multi-diverse environment and the roots of anarchism ideology seem to rise again as humanity grows (in numbers and values). I am not so sure that anarchists are into that kind of thoughts.
To your question now, there are very well informed people and interested into finding the right solutions to the big unsolved problems and cannot declare themselves in any epithet (anarchism is a perfectly exposed by philosophers ideal though) and there are other people who declare themselves anarchists and are only aware of molotov cocktails and street fightings (there are a lot of people to Exarcheia and in general all around Greece organized into haunts who definitely don't accept Bitcoins :)).

Unfortunately, Greece is generally around 5 years behind the rest of Europe and the west when it comes to matters of such technology. If any headway is to be made, they'd be well-advised to start accepting Bitcoins ASAP. It's true, there are many young punks all around Exarcheia sitting around all day drinking beers, and who occasionally throw a few rocks or a Molotov thinking that this is what it means to be an anarchist. It's a deep and penetrating lack of wisdom and education that is part of the problem. An anarchist society should be by definition stateless and classless... but not necessarily moneyless. I believe that because of Bitcoins decentralized nature, that it does not conflict with traditional anarchist principles, and should be absorbed into anarchist communities immediately. The sooner, the better.

Arming anarchists with Bitcoin is a far more powerful weapon than any bottle filled with gasoline. Bitcoin does not discriminate based on who uses it. Communists, Anarchists, Capitalists, it doesn't care. This is what makes Bitcoin so important and so very powerful. How long has the area of Exarcheia been considered a ghetto? I believe Bitcoin can seriously change all this. It will finally allow for a meaningful dissent that has never before been seen in the anarchist community. But they need some serious education on the importance of Bitcoin, and its enormous positive implications for our species.

As for me, I'm not in favor of arming people neither ideologically nor with real bombs. It is all about the self-consciousness. What you wish for your life.

Now, with the magnificent abilities of interconnectivity of people (such as Bitcoin), there are some of us who are seeing the interconnected future as tons of opportunities and the others who are seeing tons of fears. To fill the gap between them I think it requires some "magical" abilities.

You might want to tell that to the struggling people of Greece, who've been robbed blind by both the banks, and their "leaders". There is no "what you wish of your life" when you're living in an environment of very overt physical & economic oppression. Arming the people with tools they can use to fight the cancer of Capitalism is something that not only I, but every rational-thinking human being who cares about the well-being of their family and neighbors should promote. It just so happens that Bitcoin is one of the last hopes to help fight this disease of the wealthy & powerful, so that people may actually be able to do the things they've always wanted with their lives, instead of living check-to-check, or off of their parent's backs.

btc and digital economy as the "internet of things" will change the world but very slowly. we are just in the very beginning.
if you are talking about political systems like capitalism, socialism, communism and others, my opinion is that all those systems
are just relics. new systems are coming, i just hope that these new systems will have the free of speech and the free spreading of ideas
not censorship of any kind. for me this is the main thing, the stealing of money, the bad leaders will always exist.
i don't want to live in a "plastic" world with rich people but not able to think and speech freelly as we do now.
money is just money, ideas are priceless ;)

Sorry guys, even though I've been living in Greece for many years, my first language is still English and I was always better at expressing myself in this language. I am glad for the exception that has been made because I think it would be counterproductive to reprimand someone who is truly interested in the welfare of the people in the country he lives in, just because of a language barrier.  :)
