Title: BUYING - Hard drives, LARGE drives, warranty preferred.
Post by: crowetic on January 08, 2015, 07:10:17 PM
Another post for things I'm trying to buy... lol

I am looking for ANY drives. But the larger the better. New prices are around $30/TB, so I will be paying 20/TB.

2TB drives - Need at least 2

3TB drives - Need at least 5

4TB drives - need at least 5

Also, if anyone has extra SATA cables, that would be good.

USB drives are preferred over internal drives if possible, due to the nature of the project, and testing.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I have some extra SATA cables laying around, how many did you need?

No clue what they're worth, but I would buy as many as 50, lol.

I'm in Reno, NV. USA. 89523.

I don't really care all that much, but I DO NOT want any old seagate drives, if they're gonna be seagate, I'll have to look at the models and stuff before I buy...

I prefer WD

I secondly prefer maybe Hitachi actually... Because I want to do more testing with their drives, and so far they've been nice to me.

USB External drives of all kinds if possible as that matters more than manufacturer honestly.

I am mostly interested in newer drives for the 20/TB but I'll buy older ones for less as well, anything over a year or so I'll pay 10-15/TB depending.

Wait, let me get this straight. Are you looking for external or internal drives?

I'd guess a dollar or two each, probably.  Not much.

$20 shipped for 10 via First Class?  Pretty sure I have at least that many extras, maybe more than that.

Right now I would prefer external, but I will take internal as well. Also, the 2 2TB drives I want, NEED to be internal. lol

so, let me update everyone...

Need...

-2TB drive, internal, quantity - 2

-3 or 4TB drives with the following in order of preference...

most important

- Newer drive

- External if possible aside from the two 2TB.

- Western digital / Hitachi / Seagate (in order of preference, will consider others.)

I will take either internal or external, just what I'm planning would be better off with external drives. My next test will have more to do with internal. lol.

I'm selling a Hitachi drive, it's only a 750GB & I'm in the UK, so not sure if it'll be worth the postage costs......

I've got 14 and 1/2 SATA Cables if you are still needing more. The 1/2 is a little short one, about 4.5" long.
