Title: Bitfinex Security Question
Post by: user311 on January 09, 2015, 02:19:43 AM
After the recent reports from Bitstamp, I'm becoming increasingly worried with storing my coins on any site now. Who's to say Cryptsy or Bitfinex is next. This led me to contact Bitfinex and ask them what they would do in case of a security breach (hacking) and if they would reimburse my coins. After days of waiting, I've received no response so I've decide to come and post a topic. What do you guys think? Is Bitfinex reliable or should I pack up now and leave?

Totally not safe, whatever they say. No website is safe.

know your risks and decide it for yourself. there is nothing that is totally safe. even big traditional banks can go bankrupt with little warning

If none of the exchanges are 100% trustworthy it might be better to register with all of them and deposit equal amounts of bitcoins to them all. That way if one gets hacked you minimize the loss.
