It could be argued that you're being a bit shabby by exploiting the recognition gained for Gerald_Holtom's (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Holtom) CND logo that you've chosen to appropriate without credit as an icon for your cryptocurrency.

Shadow, If you are planning that big than i think you should announce some willingness to give some incentive to those people who are willing to help you fund a project but that wud sound like ico but still you are looking for only 3 btc which is not a big deal, 30 people will cover wit with .1 btc im sure ;) ... We have a team of few people who will promote this coin (they have a really major accounts in social networks and know how to send messages via bot in PM etc). I can trust them. Let's be honest, for free 99% people will not do any job harder than lazy click on one button :)
If you can mine NIST5 algo, you will be able to mine this coin. It is hybrid with modded things. As I correctly understand what coder means.

If project will have life, I will make instructions how to mine for newbies before launch. Specs are currently in discussion. But you can be sure at launch I will not instamie it to death lol.  ;D And everyone can see by getmininginfo blocks count and diff.

Shadow_runner , if i read correctly you're looking for people donating to make the coin work , which could work but most people arent generous , there needs to be like you've said a Motivation , to help you crowdfund this and it doesnt have to be coins , it could be anything something cosmic etc otherwise i think the idea is awesome , and i really hope it gets crowdfunded cause im sick of all the ico shit coins  :D

Exactly. This is experiment + good trend to follow our idea for other developers/users.
We can do more successful coin if we all will bring to it something.
Now is experimental studying of people interest.

If there will be fail, then people don't wanna do something alternative to newbie copypaste scam shit or just not interested in something different way.
Then I will return funds to senders and will continue to spend my time updating forum and mining new coins as before.

We have temporary logo right now maked by AFarpa. It can be changed to something better if someone makes better.

However, many coins get shipwrecked due to devs taking a hike. You mention the name Andrej, unfortunately he is not known as a coin dev, is he?
Is there any chance you can get a second dev aboard with a proven trackrecord so we can trust future PeaceBit development is safeguarded too?

No it's his first coin and mine.
I'm not "dev", I'm something like "idea creator" and team "face" on bitcointalk lol.
Andrej is my friend from street where I living, he is a programmer.
We talked about different themes in december, about war, life, people, hobbies, coding, design, etc.
And I've got an idea. Create a coin that somehow will unite people and they will think about peace. War is not needed.
A coin which will never born if people will not be united around this idea. We want to spread this coin far as possible.

I know maybe it's sounds naive. But, that's my idea. :)

All depends on people support first. Second place is code. Third is promotional. And only then is my place in this project. :)

I hope this will grow. But until then let's watch how people can unite around this idea at 1st stage.

Now I'm busy with some design, later I will renew OP.

Our coder is in hospital. It is winter right now in our country with snow/rain/frost and his car trapped in traffic collision.
He can't continue work and don't know if he will have wish to continue later. He has other problems now.

I'm upset. Without coder this project is dead.

The project has a fledgling community and a coder needs that to make any coin a success. Hopefully someone will step forward as it will save him the effort of trying to built a community for a new coin.

Well yeah, we'd better do something collectively. Otherwise Shadow_Runner's idea is likely to be quickly appropriated by someone with far fewer scruples and launched as short-PoW exchange fodder.

Some factors: i) there's a pre-loved mission statement from an unrelated earlier effort in the domain: “Give peace a chance”; ii) I'm not alone in recognising the potential of the meme and the nascent community that's already in place iii) Shadow_Runner probably has more positive exposure on this board than anyone else I know.

So, unless there are any compelling objections, I'm going to create a Github organisation a/c https://github.com/peacebit-project as a placeholder for development work and I'll populate it with some trivially-replaceable candidate code. PM me if you want to be added to the organisation membership.

Now, according to my dim understanding of established procedure, the next three weeks are to be taken up with screechingly incoherent arguments over PoW vs PoS and which algo to use.

In the meantime, there are some other things I'd like to consider ...

Q1: Is this to be primarily a miners' coin (like Mooncoin) or a users' coin (like Dogecoin)? <- A question about brand identity and values

Q2: Does Peacebit need anon tx? <- (as above)

Now, as for POW or POS, I think we can make a poll.
And as for anon tx too. Maybe with anon feature people will have more interest in this. Maybe not.

The MAIN destination is push people think about peaceful life on that planet. I'm living in country where is war right now. I know how war is changing life vision. I never complain about my situation IRL. And wish to everyone never know war.

Maybe if this idea in future will spread around the world via internet, then maybe at least people who never think about happiness without war will think about it.

I've started to collect funds for motivate people to spread this idea. We are all know that many people will not do any step without motivation. At first stage money is a good motivation. But if people will unite around this idea without start supply I will be only glad. But this is little unbelievable.

Don't invest. Please read carefully OP. This coin HAS MAIN idea about PEACE (and f*ck the war), and HAD new algo, but coder was trapped in to hospital.

Unfortunatelly I don't have sources with new algo. I had few compiled miners and wallets, they had different errors, coder has not completed his work and now he has more big problems with health than anything else.

The main idea is make people think about peaceful life, how's it great. War is not need for us.

My country has war now. I'm living not really far from warfare, but never has complain about that. Conversely I want to remind people how peace is great and we must to appreciate this time. Do not make war.

New algo was a little inducement for community to make it more concern. Coz without that lazy people will not do anything with main idea.

"Yeah, peace, we agree. Ok. What's next?" - most people will think that without motivation.

Motivation needs something to live. That's why I decided to pay some people for promote.

What has been happen you all know.

Now we can use this idea with something different way. I have already said I'm not refuse to continue. But we need to work together, and create something together. I can't do this alone. I can support only if community will need my little skills.
