Post by: globe-biz on January 11, 2015, 02:39:34 AM
Hello I hope you can help, about 10 hours ago I sent 6 coins and when I check the transaction it still says minus one confirmation. The money has not arrived to where it is supposed to go!! I have never seen this before. It says minus one confirmation after 10 hours in the area that shows  the transaction history in my wallet but when I check the address on the chain it says 65 confirmations the address is 1Ntnp57qTiWhhMDBp37ZcEpRjgiA1Q6jHd

this is the link to the blockchain analysis if you want to help me out

This is the link I got when I right clicked the transaction in the Electrum account history area.I have never seen this happen where the money seems to be lost. I hope not or I have lost faith in bitcoin. Please help if you can we need to pay the rent soon!!

It shows it confirmed:

You really want to move this to the electrum section since it sounds like an electrum bug and is off-topic here. They'll give more help there.  It is probably just an easy fix with electrum, did you restart/re sync?

Just remember though that as long as you have the key for that address, nothing is lost. So don't panic.

Thank you for the responses but I do not think it is a Electrum problem. The transaction has been sent because it shows confirmations so it is a bitcoin or blockchain problem

What exactly is the problem then? It is unclear to both of us it seems.

Is the address you listed the one you sent to?  Is electrum showing -1 confirmations?  Did you not want the coins sent? Did you not create the transaction?  Or something else?

The good news is after checking now it shows 91 confirmations and the money is there. It is almost like they saw my post and pushed it through or someone helped.I have never had a transaction take a 12 hours period to post.Strange

There is no "they".

There is nothing to "push through", and no one to "push" it.

It was clear from the link that you posted that the transaction was sent and was confirmed.

It was only your Electrum wallet that was not showing you the correct information about the transaction.  I'm glad to hear that whatever bug your Electrum wallet was experiencing, it was resolved satisfactorily.

"Minus 1 confirmation"?

Like a negative confirmation? Oh the irony of that statement.

"Your transaction was confirmed to be negative."

Sorry I have never heard of minus one conf.

I know there is no they I am just making figure of speech, you were missing the joking point. But the problem was not a bug in my Electrum it was as if it was stuck.I say stuck also as a figure of speech. You see I was sending the money to someone and the money did not arrive for 12 hours but now it did. This makes me feel a little bit nervous about bitcoin because the fee to make the transfer was paid but it was very delayed.I hope this does not happen again

Then I guess that would be a verified electrum bug because it said negative one confirmation

It has arrived to that someone. The -1 confirmation is a known Electrum bug that only affects the user of the wallet. It's usually fixed by restarting or connecting to a different Electrum server.

It didn't take 12 hours to "post" as we said - it was an electrum bug in its display.
