Title: USD->BTC exchange that doesn't require storing bank information?
Post by: DuddlyDoRight on January 12, 2015, 03:00:50 AM
I've searched and can't find one. The closest thing was Brawker but it's exchange model is scary, and they have masked WHOIS and are only a year old..

I've searched Google too. Bitstamp is the most reputable but requires stored bank information and has poor quality development which has led to it being hacked.

You can always try to sell bitcoins directly to the interested client. I bet you find some people like that here.

Yeah physical IOS/Android wallet exchanges are what I use now..

No way I'm going to store bank data on a server belonging to someone too irresponsible to hire competent developers... Most of the hacks on the "reputable" sites I'm told were high level SQL injection attacks. Entry level developer stuff.. The owners also have presence on low-ball freelancer sites..

Honestly the fact such poor quality services are listed as reputable even on bitcoin.it makes me edgy as a investor.. Nobody wants to hand money to people who think it's a video game where if your property is lost it's not suppose to be an issue..

AFAIK BitStamp covered investor losses in their recent breach. But yes, the majority of exchanges have a ho-hum attitude. Mt. Gox and even Inputs.io are still fresh in the minds of many.

But do you want to withdraw or just trading?

I know that btce doesn't require any verification to trade, so there is no problem until you want to withdraw

There is also kraken that is a good exchange, take a look at it

Do you want to trade or just do transactions from time to time?
If you go for 2nd option then look into localbitcoins.com .
