I can see a virtual currency that improves bitcoin gaining preference over bitcoin in the future.
But I'd be very surprised to see a copy of bitcoin with some simple tweaks doing much more than bubbling a bit..
It's like making a copy of facebook and expecting everybody who's already on facebook to switch to your copy.

haha. i actually haven't been actively day-trading ltc... i just bought 10k as a 'what the hell' investment a few months ago for all of 5 btc or so and just sat on it.

the thing is, even at ~100 btc's worth, i'm thinking maybe just sit on it and see what they're doing in another 3-6 months.

edit: hmmmm looking at the order book it seems selling 10k would cut the price right in half anyway. not much volume there.

ASIC for LTC would not work very well...go do your research buddy =)

Hint: On board cache

It's still below the previous all time high of  around 0.016 BTC

Nope

it would just have to be inexpensive DRAM instead of SRAM. Should be doable because of periodic and deterministic memory access.

If it just would have larger volumes! I cant buy or sell even 1000$ without causing havoc on any exchange!
This bubble is like a bubble gum in a water glass!

Keep buying the price up and eventually the volume will increase...

...Its just these pathetically low prices keeping people from throwing away their precious coins so early in the game. :)

Yes, but the whole point of that is to make the whole thing irritatingly expensive to make an ASIC for since these are the things that most video cards already have in massive abundance.

Trickles are fine for now, my amount of disposable funds being somewhat limited. And actually trickles will remain fine possibly until every coin to be minted has been minted, as I don't need vast sums of money to retire on for a while yet...

Nope highest price to hit on BTC-e.com is 0.011 back in November 2011.
It was traded for that on IRC before the exchanges went up.
