Does the bitcoin protocol work ? So bitcoin isn't dead , instead it is alive and it is a great technology. More people use bitcoin ( with the various payment processor) and more the value  goes down.

Yes , if the people use it and not convert btc >> usd or eur.  If they will convert (directly) btc >> FIAT , it will cause a "second" dump and the price will grow hardly .

Too bad Bitcoin is dead. As you can see here (https://blockchain.info/), no new transactions are being generated. I guess if I try to send all my bitcoins they will be stuck forever unconfirmed.

Sep 2013: ~$100
Jan 2014: ~$200

Blockchain: Works fine as it should, no problems detected.

Is this a clear sign of bitcoin dying?

No. It's just desperation of someone who wants to get rich quickly.

shaking out weak hands in times of gloom is healthy for markets.

after the shit fell out of the bottom of the toilet in 2008 US markets, did you think it would have rallied to all time highs by 2014? in 08 the sky was falling in then too and everyone fell to pieces, its normal peaks and troughs of the waves - but the fearful will always flee no matter how many times history repeats

Honestly, this is only goodbye to the people who purchased Bitcoin high.  This is a leveling out.  Bitcoin is being adopted greater then ever before, if the price is not representing this, which it is not, I have a hard time believing any previous value was representative of the actual demand.  Not going anywhere, don;t plan to for a long time, and will be here to support this awesome technology... I won't bail because the price is low, not happening.

RIP? hahahahaha  :D
Why?

I can still open my wallet, see my bitcoins, send them, use them, spend them… you're stupid and focusing just on their price.

Seriously, if you cause FUD like this, the price will only go lower as people will be scared and dump their coins. The price should go back up sometime.

huh what did he just say lol. To be honest coin dropping like this will be giving many people a hard-on including myself being able to buy some cheap ass coins and wait for the rise on it again. Let the Fudding continue let the panic sellers sell and be hating. Least prices are coming down to a nice $200 ish and soon to be in the $100s. Theirs about 50 to 100BTC holding the market prices in btc-e and in all honestly if it continues to do what it is doing then we could soon see a market rice of $30 or even $20 again or lower and to be honest this will cause an influx of big company's buying up a lot of it and stocking up till the rise happens.

Too bad Bitcoin is dead. As you can see here (https://blockchain.info/), no new transactions are being generated. I guess if I try to send all my bitcoins they will be stuck forever unconfirmed.

Just what I figured! blockchain.info is purposely doubling the time it takes for blocks to be discovered to try to increase the exchange rate. Meanwhile, BitPay is laying off essential employees (they're all essential), and Black Arrow and AMT Miners has almost refunded all their customers with the exception of the naughty ones, saved for last. Another saving grace is that BitStamp, based in the US, still has control of their customers' Half a Billion Dollars worth of bitcoins in cold storage where no outside hacker can get their GAW-like paws on them.

Hey just a q regarding Bitpay, do you have knowledge that none of these employees were hired for the development/marketing of the Bitcoin bowl?  Just curious, as such a large event would surely require some additional seasonal assistance, although 9 or w.e employees is a lot.

Such people should be permanently banned.

Why?
because they are talking nonsense and creating threads that encourage people to quit bitcoin

I thought this thread was very nice and creative.

I read somewhere that their is free speech on this forum.
Obviously, as proven by this thread, it should have its limitations.
You ask me why?
He's spreading pure FUD about bitcoin. Calling it bad (R.I.P., dead) he did not, provide evidence at any time to back up this claim.

With all this deep selling and presumably converting bitcoins to currencies, one does wonder whether the exchanges have enough USD$, Euros, Yuan, etc to cover all withdrawals.  Are all major exchanges independently audited, including exchanges in China?

Nah, we don't even know who owns some of them or even where they're locations.  Bitcoin's "infrastructure" is a fun mix of neckbeards from mom's basement & totally legit d00ds from the internet.

They do have enough to support it with all their fees they have enough reserves in fiat funds to have enough people cashing out am sure if people continue on the down trend and more gets changed out and becomes problems on site then am sure their services will announce if they will have a problem in supporting $ cash out. They make enough of fees to cover a fair chunk of it then reserves etc. Who knows BTC might be getting MTGOXED and their cashing out their coins from remote random places. Think about it if they got coin in the massive amounts and they go though washer to mane new coins liek the new ICO where coins where shown going into it am sure this could even be a result of that or some serious players among small players and other fields cashing out too.

Such a small lifespan for a big name in the cryptoworld. Though there is a massive price drop, still we can't predict what will happen EXACTLY in the future. There might be some great changes that might happen along the way: it's either the price will rise, or the price will continue to fall.

2009-2015? Not yet, I think.

BTC from 3 January 2009 to 13 January  2015

intensivecare taken, not much to be done..
funeral will be public, come and join.

missing:
millions of loved members from cryptoworld
& huge list of his childs, altcoins in their last name

post your goodbye message here and hope for a miracle

added:
nostradamus predicts:
in next week 199usd
then:
in next 1 months 184usd (1 months from now)
in next 2 months 138usd (3 months from now)
in next 3 months 92usd (6 months from now)
Current(USD/BTC):

Bitstamp 176.71
BTC-e 171.19
Bitfinex 178.69
Huobi 172.72

free fall! my timeline seems way too careful

In 1, 3, and 6 months from now I'm going to compare bitcoin's price to his prediction. I bet it's wrong.

Well, at least the stupid hype and exponential curve is broken so we don't need to listen to that madness anymore...

Anyone who says Bitcoin is better than the next best altcoin is a scammer most likely looking to unload his ponzi bags before it collapses. That's a positive we were able to make learning progress into that direction during the bearmarket.
