Title: My BTC
Post by: Fickle12 on January 13, 2015, 10:56:48 PM
Hi guys

I have around 95 BTC, with the sudden collapse in prices I'm unsure whether or not to keep them on the off chance that it will rise again or whether to sell them all.

Is there a chance of it rising? How long would you guess until it does?

Thanks!

Fickle

Why are you asking us?  Honestly nobody really knows where the market will go.  If you have faith in bitcoin, hold. :)

You should definitely sell them all, to me.  I'll give you $4750 for the entire worthless set of 95 BTC.  It's a great deal, you should take it.  How would you like to receive the payment?

wow… leaving the ship?

Why not saving it on a paper wallet or something like that and wait?
If you don't want to save it, what you can do is sell it here, on bitcointalk. 95BTC is an "interesting" amount ;)

This bitcoin price drop is so unusual and unparalleled that I do not know what to do. After all there were not any signs that foreshadow that huge drop. Now wait for the end or... for another price spike.

Why are you asking us?  Honestly nobody really knows where the market will go.  If you have faith in bitcoin, hold. :)

Or if you have faith in Bitcoin but think value will continue to drop for a while then you would sell your coins now and buy back at the bottom, which I'm calling around $100.

I could be wrong though.

I would hold.

Saying that I recently purchased some Cloud Mining Hash at http://www.minethatcloud.com/ (http://www.minethatcloud.com/), That turned out to be a good investment.

No one can predict the future, so that's a hard question.

My thought, you should have sold them on the top we've experienced earlier. But it's hard to know when the (temporary) top has been reached. If I had sold my BTC on the top, I definately would have bought back (more) BTC later on. Especially with this current price. For now, I hold my BTC untill the very end. Whether that's a bad decision or a great amount of money to allow me retire, we'll see.

NOt a good time to sell. It's may rise back.
Or continue to fall.
Nobody knows.

We are about to test $200. If you sell and $200 hold, then you can rebuy at same prices with few or no loss, probably with profit.

If not you will increase your bitcoins holdings.

Just be careful if you use an exchange.

Or never have chance to rebuy, so total disaster

Hmm.. I wont suggest you holding. At the current price (~200 USD), I doubt it will go any lower. Maybe just about 100 USD? After which, people would buy Bitcoin again. Thus, making Bitcoin go up again.

If you wanna risk (and make more), like others said, sell for 200 USD (now) and buy at cheaper rate later on.

I don't know if this is for real or just a fud but in all honesty OP, it's up to you what you do with your investments. If you believe in Bitcoin hold or sell if you don't.

Title: Re: My BTC
Post by: fearlesscat10 on January 14, 2015, 10:23:28 AM
It seems to be decreasing steadily so you could sell all now and buy back at an even lower price. Nobody really knows where the true price of bitcoin lies so I can't really tell you whether or not it'll still be a good investment in the years to come.

it is really weird for me that you bought a huge amount of BTC without knowing what to do with it. either you missed a couple of zeroes before 95 or ....

Bitcoin time is over. It was nice knowing you guys. It is time to invest in some more stable ventures. Sell it while you can.

Of course there is a chance it will rise. A very good chance in fact. You'd be silly to sell them now at such a price. Just think of the future possibilities!

Yeah, goodbye... We feel you will soon join us for sure when the prices will be back to wherever you want them... And yes, thanks for your advice, but we would like to hodl, and would also advice the OP to hodl... Don't regret when you come back as we know it's human nature, and yes, Bitcoin's time won't be over ever, as Bitcoin can go anywhere but not 0... ;) Cheers...

It may be better to invest in a promising alt coin. BTC could fall even farther than it ever has. I personally believe it will fall farther.

I believe the bitcoin price will have a long-term uprising trend, but too bad I don't have a crystal ball. So it is just my own speculation only.

If those 95 btc is just part of your savings, and you don't need it in the near future, I would suggest you to keep holding it for a few years and wait for the price to go up.

The main thing I'm worrying about is whether or not it will rise, if so when (do you think)?

Since more people and companies are joining the bitcoin train, odds are better for a future rise. No guarantees though!
When? No one knows!

A lot of people think it'll rise in 2016 because of block halving.

Have you tried asking yourself the same question? Tbh, no one knows if the price will collapse or go up. If you believe in it, go and hold. But if you're worrying now, then sell. It's money that we're talking about here, so it's your own self that you should be asking because it is yours anyway.

Selling now means sealing your fate. Ask yourself are you really so desperate for money? Would selling on current price that will cut down your losses is much better than to take further risk? Make sure you ponder on the answers before making any decision.

This newbie have so many coins. much more than me. The price of anything tradable in the future is completely unpredictable, don't listen to anybody and trust yourself.
