Title: Case sizes, Mid Vs Full
Post by: Fiyasko on July 09, 2012, 07:27:13 PM
Alrighty, So i've finally found my mid size case to be too small. the longest VGA I can fit is about 10.4"
Most cards are starting to be 11"

How much more room does a Full size case have? (on average) Will i get 1" two or three inches? All the case just seem to get Taller i need more length.

So with my mid size tower allowing me to fit 10.4" cards
How big of cards could i fit with a standard full size tower?

I just built a new system about two weeks ago. I went for the Zalman Z11 Plus. Though it has been out for over a year I find this a great case with plenty of room in it and with five fans loads of cooling. Plus it has room for two more fans if needed. Yes this is a midi case but it proves not all midi are the same. Shop around to see what is available before going for the full you might be surprised. Also most good retailers online with give you the dimensions of any case they are selling so you can work out if it will fit on our desk. :)

I am a huge fan of the Coolermaster ATCS 840 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119187 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119187)
It is HUGE I cant stress this enough, its 9" wide ~28" long and high. No issues fitting anything in it, AND it has a removable motherboard tray on ball bearings making switching coolers or anything really a breeze. I couldnt recommend it more although it is a bit pricey, I got it for 180. But it will never be too small  ;D

I have a CM HAF X, cost $180, but its awesome & huge. http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6653 It has about 13'' room for GPUs, also a VGA holder/brace for the cards, which is really nice. Mine started to sag after 2 years.
