Title: Why did you delete my thread?
Post by: NotHatinJustTrollin on January 15, 2015, 07:19:08 PM
My thread was just a fun and original way to prove a point  ;D

I haven't insulted anybody, why was my thread deleted?

Or maybe there was a problem and the thread didn't get posted?
I didn't receive any Personal messages telling me that a post of mine was removed (what usually happens).

I'm going to re-post it.

Maybe you can give a little more details about your thread. Seeing that you are new here - or at least your account is - I suspect it got moved silently because you posted in the wrong section.

Edit: also there is the "edit" button. In case you have something you want to add to a post...

If you repost a thread it will likely get deleted again. It is my understanding that when an entire thread is trashed anyone that posted in such thread will not receive a notification via PM (although if you are a repeat offender you may get a PM from a mod asking you to stop making threads that need to be deleted).

Why don't you post what the thread was about here? Include which section it was posted in

EDIT: if the below is the thread of yours that was deleted it was probably deleted because it was trolling/spamming with nonsense. The price was nowhere near the levels that you mentioned, nor was it at the levels for years.

So yesterday Bitcoin's price crashed to $12 and everyone was panicking and saying bitcoin is dead!
Bitcoin is NOT dead ahah you silly bears! It's already back at $16 now! CCMF!!

And on top of that...

...Wait...

...What year is this? ... 2015?
Aw shit.

Sorry guys my time machine calibrator is not working well, I come from the year 2024 and was supposed to post a thread in this forum, but fucked up a little. Carry on.

Good luck my fellow bitcoiners from the past and don't forget to HODL!

Bye.

Yes that was it.

Why "spamming/trolling?"

Did you read it?
The time machine thing was just a joke to prove a simple point. The fact that everyone gets excited with quick rebounds even if price is still 70-80% since its all time high after 1 year.

It's an original funny way to prove a point, why deleting it?

I obviously read it if I was able to tell you that the price was nowhere near the levels that you said it was.

It really does not make any sense to me. Nor do I think it makes any kind of point.

It is really more trolling because it is not true and is greatly exaggerating how low the price went yesterday. There is no real way to have any kind of conversation with that post.

You mentioned that you usually get a PM notification when a message of yours is deleted. It is probably not a good thing that you know this because you really should not be making a lot of posts that get deleted, if you do then you are often breaking the rules

Your post was a high level play on American sarcasm that required a deep knowledge of the price history of Bitcoin. I realize that you were simply trying to tell people that the dip near $150.00 was nothing to worry about and to hold. You were showing that people were just a fearful when it dropped to to the sub $20.00 price range in 2012. This also exposes your limited knowledge of BTC as well as a better example would have been the fall from the peak in June 2011 to ~$2.00 each in December 2011.

Things to consider

1. A majority of the people here aren't American even though they speak English. (<---- Brace yourself USA, it's true)
2. A lot of people here do not know the pricing history, so this is meaningless banter to them.
3. A lot of people here do not get sarcasm as intended
4. Nobody is in the mood for abstract cheer leading
5. "original and funny" are your opinion only. It was neither original nor funny.

The list goes on, but at the bottom and most important is....

100.  The thread served no purpose.

You mean like 90% of the threads here?

Glad I'm part of the 10%  ;D

~BCX~

A legend in your own mind. lol

Surely you can admit that at least half of the threads on this forum can be deleted without losing any content. Hell, most of them now are nothing but a rehash of crap that's been discussed to death for 6 years.

I'm inclined to agree, the necro posters especially aren't even fucking subtle about it, which is why I'm getting pretty annoyed at the amount of people complaining about having their posts deleted when they know exactly what they've done wrong.
