Title: [ANN] A New Faucet
Post by: MeBTC on January 18, 2015, 08:51:51 AM
I created a new faucet http://omneity.me/ (http://omneity.me/)

Right now the payout isn't much, however I plan to increase the payout as soon as I can. This is my first faucet so I am being just a bit cautious about it. I will try and increase it to the maximum I can, after I get an idea about much the ad-networks will pay, and try the best setting then.

I hope you all will help me and use it, and give your opinions.

Please know that the faucet was created just today, so it is in a kind of early beta stage(all payments are working perfectly, including referral commisions, I have checked them more then 10 times) , so I'll be making regular changes to it.
Some of the planned updates are:
  • A better interface
  • Higher payouts
  • About and Info page
  • More content like, rotator, faucet list, other articles. May change.
  • Better ad management: More ads(to increase payout, will NOT use any po-ups, roll-over, etc annoying ads), maybe a option to allow user to choose preferred ads/ad-network
  • Min time between claims: not sure what it might be later
  • Contact page
  • Some polls: mainly to ask user opinions on things
If you have any suggestions/request, please feel free to so here, or the upcoming contact page. Though I can't guarantee to fulfill every request, but I sure will consider it seriously and try my best to deliver, if possible.

Lastly, once again I ask you all to visit it, and support it. I assure you I'll make it better once I am able to get some stats.
I hope you ignore my bad English(I am not a native English speaker), and bare with me while the faucet/site is being completed.

(Just some extra info)
And yes, I don't want it to be just a BTC faucet, in fact I want to make a proper site, related to not just BTCs, but I have no means to pay for the hosting and domain, so added this faucet to be able to cover my monthly charges while I create rest of the site(I am still a student!).

Thank you, in advance.

Oh! Thanks a lot. Fixed!
Did I mention that I am new to forums too, so I am not used to these forum codes, or BBcodes or whatever they are

Nice and simple faucet site.

I like this captcha system.

Bitcoin's value is low this time, you should make it higher to increase more traffic.

Anyway good luck for your site  :)

Thank you.
I prefer simple, light-weight site to heavy sites with a lot of images and media, so I'll be implementing the same here.

I'm glad you liked the captcha. I was a bit worried about it, as I didn't really like it. In fact I plan on providing users with option of captchas as well. I am also working on a method to verify humans from bots without any captcha, though that might require accounts.

I can't really afford to increase the reward right now as I don't have much BTCs to spare, and I am not generating enough traffic to get and revenue from ads. Most people won't advertise unless the site in known, or has at least some traffic.

I sure took my own time, but I have finally managed to update the website design, and it is almost perfectly responsive enough for all screen sizes.
I hope you all to like it.
Please give you opinion on the new design, or anything that you want to.
Thank you.

Thanks a lot for your opinion, I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I understand that, and yes, I will.
But the problem is that I have given away about 9,000 satoshi, while I have made just 8 satoshi via advertising. And that is because they are no bids on my site right now.
And I believe that First I need to get at least some minimum ads-bid on my site, or soon I won't have any BTCs to give away. So, I have decided to first increase content on my site to attract some advertisers, and then determine the best reward. Also, this will enable me to get coinURL and adbit.co to accept my site.
Also, I believe that once I get some ads running on my site, I should not have problems increasing the reward, as I am not into it for the money, I am just a student, and I am into web designing and stuff, so this is more like a educational project to me, but since I can't afford to pay for my hosting on monthly basis(even though its just $7/month, or you can say I don't want to), I will pocket just about $7 roughly per month to pay for the hosting, and the rest will be added to the reward balance/any future site development work.

And the worst part, due to studies and stuff, I get only about 3 hours a day to work on the site(and I admit I am slow at stuff..)

In fact today I started to work on a unique high paying method's code, which I believe could make a very interesting faucet(I don't want to share the idea publicly), but then I realized that I don't have enough funds to do so right now, and have postponed it.

I apologize for the low rewards, however I know of no better way to deal with this. If you have any suggestion, I am all ears.

Thank you.
I guess its  bit too big a reply.. ;D

The payouts have been increased upto 10,000 satoshis* per hours!

It is a new type of concept that I am trying. You can choose the amount you want, from 100 satoshi to upto 10,000 satoshi, however as you increase the desired prize, the chances of getting it decrease, eg.
100 satoshi - 100% chance
500 satoshi - 20%  chance
1,000 satoshi - 10% chance
10,000 satoshi - 1% chance

Hope you all like this.

Thank you.

I tried to win 10,000 satoshi on the first attempt.
Don't you win anything when using the greed bar.

it's nice idea
but i suggest you this
100 satoshi -- %100
200 satoshi ---%70
300 satoshi ---%60

Otherway i wil always try 100 satoshi, because it's same

I tried to win 10,000 satoshi on the first attempt.
Don't you win anything when using the greed bar.

If you mean as in I am cheating? No.

I f you mean as in a small prize for the try..I too thought about that, but I have not yet decided for sure that how much should it be?? Do you have any suggestion??

I think maybe 50 satoshi should be good, since if you don't win, then you don't win, and since it is a Greed Bar, probably you should be given less for your greed.
Another thing I can think of is to award the "winning chance percentage" instead, but the problem is that it will be too little in most cases.
Or, the third option I have in mind is to instead decrease the cool-down in case of a failed attempt, but but that could be weird.

Also, I named it the Greed Bar, as in that if you are too greedy, you might end up not getting anything at all...

I'd be happy to listen to any suggestion that you might have.

Thank you for your interest.

Thank you,
But wouldn't then every one prefer 300, as in that case they all are not balanced. In my settings, the odds are as such, that the average payout is around 100 satoshi per person, but if a person thinks he's really lucky, they may try a higher value, and probably win a bigger prize. And anyways, you still have a nice chance of winning upto 500 satoshi.

In case there are more people that don't like this method, than I might change it to the traditional trend, where everyone winning a random prize for the given list. But the whole idea behind this was to give the users some control over what they want, a sure smaller prize, or a probable larger prize.

Anyways, there is a lot I have on my mind right now, other than making some amendments to this system, I am planning on adding the following system as well, probably give the users to chose whichever method they prefer
- this "greed bar" thing
- a fixed amount, no randoms no condition, no nothing
- the traditional method, you will surely receive any one of the 'n' pre-defined prizes, at random
- coins accumulates with time, like in the case of moonbit.co.in(unlimited, but rate decreases with time) or www.chronofaucet.com(at fixed rate, but 1000 satoshi cap)
- a game like thing, this is what i want to make the most, where the user can get as many coins as many he wants, but it depends upon time and skills, does, a lot of control to users, but just can't understand how or what game?

Hehe.. :D
You should try somewhere around 400 or 500 then in that case, my stats show that there are many who are claiming about 400, or just go for the sure prize of 100 satoshi then.
However my favorite method would be to alternate between the sure prize of 100 satoshi and and higher prize of about 1,000 - 2,500, so that I don;t end up losing every time, as I too have a really bad luck..

Any way, good luck, hope you win a big prize the next time you play..

I have just added the Faucet list page (http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php).
I just finished with the designing and the working, thus there are only 3 faucets in the list as we speak, but I hope to add a few decades everyday, from tomorrow onwards(sorry, but have got two tests tomorrow morning so can't really spend too much time today).
I really hope you all visit it and provide me with a feedback.

Some of the planned features:
 - Ability to sort using and of the provided columns
 - Maybe a search feature
 - Ability for users to comment on a faucet
 - More interactive features for users

If there are any suggestions, such as any other factor you'd like me to evaluate the faucets on, or any broken information, or any other thing, please feel free to do so here or via the Contact page (http://omneity.me/contactus/contactus.php).

Thank you.

Hope you all like the list.

i was thinking about an idea on those faucets, instead of resolving captcha, it would be better to play a small game and if you win you get the reward(which should be much higher than just 500-1k satoshi) otherwise nothing you just repeat after 1 hour

at least it will lead to some fun... captcha are boring

you could try to work on this on your faucet, could be a new good feature imho

Yes, I noticed that, and I am not sure why is that happening, it didn't used to happen when I started the site.
I am sorry for the inconvenience that it might be causing, I'll talk to the support asap.
However, it does work none the less, you just need to wait, at least till the matter is resolved.

Thank you.  :) :)

Thanks. That is a really great idea, eliminating the captcha, and making a game which will be both, the faucet and the captcha.
Do you have any idea what kind of a game should it be? I am open to new ideas. However, I can't promise that I will be able to develop it, as I am not very good with some of the stuff, and might not have enough knowledge to make one.

Thank you.

Do people actually make a claim here?

Yes, I am sorry. The issue has come to my notice. I have reported the same to the hosting service, while have also opened up a thread elsewhere to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
I am sorry about my lack of knowledge about recaptcha api, which is why I can't resolve it myself. In case you/anyone else here knows anything about recaptcha, please can you help me.
In the mean time you can visit http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php (http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php), and visit some other great faucet. I do update the list whenever I have the time(usually weekends) and add more on weekly basis.

Once again, sorry.  :-[
And thank you for understanding.  :D

PS. - In case you/anyone else want proofs that I am not scamming here, I can provide you with screen shots to prove that this faucet used to work, until this unforeseen obstacle, and I have actually paid out a lot, way more than I have been able to make. :(  :'(

Great news!!
The faucet is back online and running. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll still let the warning message, on the faucet page stick around for some time, just in case things break down again.

Also, if anyone have suggestion, request or need, please let me know, like, article on some topic, adding some particular faucet to the faucet list, review of something, some feature on the site, etc.(except, increasing the faucet reward amount, that is not something I can afford right now due to lack of advertisers)

Thanks..

updated the Faucet List Page (http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php?page=4), and added more faucets to it.

Some of the faucets I added are very new, and probably never heard of as few of them were started just this week. Some of these new faucets are pretty high paying, and are really worth a visit.

Be sure to visit the Faucet list (http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php?page=4), and start claiming free BTCs

Thanks a lot. I plan on adding filtering, and probably a search feature as well, to make things even easier, specially for when there are lots more faucets(I try and add more whenever i get the time).
Also, please rate your favorite faucets as well as those that you don't like, thus helping others to decide what faucets to visit.

If you have any suggestions, like any other parameter to consider, please let me know, and I'll try my best to add it.

Thank you.

I appreciate the concern, but really I can;t afford to do so, and I believe that I'll me paying for the hosting for 2 years in one go instead of on monthly basis due to huge discount of 40% that I get in doing so, and I pay for my hosting in BTCs, so quite surely I am not going to increase the payouts for a while. No. of visitors sure would help, but I'd rather wait to add some more content before then, as I have already mentioned before that this site in not going to be JUST a faucet, but rather the faucet will just be a small part of it, once I'm able to find enough time that is(I am almost in my final year now!)

Though,  I do hope that I am able to increase the payouts asap, but I don't really see that coming soon enough. I ussume that it might take a few months before I can do so. I apologize about that.

Thank you.

Well, that's really  great idea, something like pac-man. I wont go for minesweeper similar faucets now already exist, and tic-tac-toe is too boring and easy, and won't be good against bots, and hence captcha would still be required.

Well, I am a bit weird about such things, so I won't remake the exact pac-man but rather make something similar probably. Not very sure though. The main problem is that I am not very good at game development right now, I am still in the phase of learning it, Unity particularly. So, though pac-man-like-games might be a simple project, I could end up taking my own sweet time, especially because I have to make sure it can't be cheated.

I also had come up with my own little idea, where you are a miner and have to dig, finding junk or precious BTCs in the process. You can buy equipments, etc. How does this sound?

Thank you.

Thank you.

You should add one of the best faucets in your list : BitcoinSpace Faucet (http://bitcoinspace.net/freebitcoins)

Thanks a lot. This is the first request that I have received from a user. I'll start testing this faucet from today, and collect info. Hopefully I'll have enough stats for the faucet by the end of the week and add it in the list. Sorry, but I usually prefer to always test the faucets for some time if possible so that all the stats are accurate, since I have come across a few faucets which I have found to claim false reward amount on their page, or are cheat in other ways. I hope that is okay with you.

Thanks a lot once again. I really appreciate it.

It is not every 10 minutes  it is every 60 minutes. 20 sats every 60 minuets not worth it. maybe every 60 seconds but not ever 60 minuets. But nice page and concept.

No, you might be getting it wrong, it is every 10 minutes. I too would never visit a faucet that pays only 20 satoshis/hour. It is 120 satoshi/hour, or 20 satoshi/10 minutes.

I hope that helps. in case you have any feedback/query/complaints/suggestions, you are always welcome.
Thank you.

It is 20 satoshi every 10 minutes, I am sorry for the confusion, I really am not sure what has caused this confusion.
This is equal to 120 satoshi/hour, and Now i have very few visitors, where as when I had 100 satoshi/hour, I had way more visitors per day. I am not sure why is it so.

I have been trying a new look for the website, you ca see it here, http://omneity.me/try/ (http://omneity.me/try/)

As haven't had to fully test this with all devices/resolutions/devices/etc, and my laptop has broke down, i can't even do so. However, I thought i might share it here, and you all can help report problems with it. Please do note that though it is responsive in nature, it is not well optimized for smaller screens, I'll be making a template for that too soon

I really hope that you all like it, and report to me any issues that you find with the new look. I f it all works out well, I'll get my new laptop with 2 weeks and  then I can implement this design. However, in case I get enough confirmations that it has no issues, I might implement it before via this temp system that I am using right now, as the files are already and uploaded.

Thanks a lot in advance everyone.

I have updated the Faucet List (http://omneity.me/btcworld/faucetlist.php) to include some more faucets. I'll be adding more daily, it is just that due to studies I am not able to get enough time, hence I am taking it a bit slow.

If you know of any good faucets, please feel free to tell me about them, and I'll be sure to add them to the list.

I they have a very high threshold, and increased it even further to 500,100. Though I believe that they pay directly to your wallet could you please confirm. Also, have they ever paid you, as they could be scam?
Thank you.

Oh, so it actually is your faucet. Do you pay directly? And can you please lower the threshold amount. 100,100 was bearable but 500,100 is insane. It will take ages for me to try even 1 payout from this faucet, and i don't want to add it until then.
Thanks

Success! 20 satoshi send to your FaucetBOX account!

Low payouts! You need to fix that asap!
And that greed bar doesn't seem to work! Any problem with that? I just set the greed bar to 100,000 and nothing changed ..I won 20 satoshi at last :P

You may want to make promotions like "First 10 people with the screenshot of winning 100k satoshi get another 100k satoshi :)"

You should read the "NEWS" section :)

We finished our move to the new server and the cashout was set back to the initial value : 100100 satoshi.

Thank you all for understanding !

yes, I am getting a lot of request about increasing the payouts, and believe me I want to, but just can't right now as I don't really have the funds to, but will as soon as i can.

Could you please explain the problem that you are facing with the "greed bar". I tested it out earlier and it seems to work just fine, also the stas show that people have been able to claim more satoshis using the greed bar. Could you please elaborate on the problem you are facing. Though it shouldn't matter but could you also tell me what OS and browser you are using?

The promotion is a nice idea to attract more people, but I have no plans of doing it right now. Also, my exams are going on right now, they'll be over in about 13 days, so I might not work much on the site till then. Anyways, thank for the idea, it might come handy in the future.

Thank you.

I tried to win 10,000 satoshi on the first attempt.
Don't you win anything when using the greed bar.

I still haven't won a thing... never ever. :D

Well, maybe you are not very lucky. Why don't you try some lower amount like 500-1,000 satoshi, as you see the chances of winning 10,000 are 1 in 500.

Also, I am planning on increasing the payouts, most probably by 250%. That also means that chances of winning 10,000 will decrease by 250%(i hope my math is correct on this on). It's just I haven't really made that decision for sure, and will to it after my exams are over(this whole month), so you can try bigger prizes again after that.

Thanks for trying it you, and better luck next time! ;D :P

I am really happy that you liked the design, though it still kind of under construction, especially the mobile version. The "greed bar" is an original idea, and hopefully the first of its kind. I plan to improve on them with time, so please just hang in there(basically waiting for more content as well as ads).

thanks

Yes, I am planning on doing so soon, hopefully within the first week of May. You can come back and visit then.
Also, I am planning on adding a gambling-like-game soon, kind of a betting game, but need to verify with my hosting provider if I can host it, as they have a strict policy against any kind of gambling. I hope you'll like both of these, whenever they are added(sorry, but I am kind of really slow, and take ages to make even small changes)

Thanks for you feedback.

Sorry everyone, for the long absence. Exams!!

I have been requested repeatedly to increase the payouts. Well, I have tried finding more (and better) ad-networks, but to avail, thus i was thinking that either I can sit this time out, or I could increase the ads(not much, probably two more), only on the faucet page, and then increase the payouts and the chances by 250%(or 2.5x).

So, what do you all suggest? You can view the current page here (http://omneity.me/faucet/faucet.php) and tell your opinions.

Also, is the 10 minute time interval good enough, or do you prefer something else instead?

I look forward to hearing from as many people as possible, and help me out here. I too will try my best to satisfy as many people as possible.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this and respond.
Regards,

Thanks.

Hello,
Well, my last two posts talk about it, and i have increased the rewards by 250%. In case you have visited after the increase, I am sorry but that is the best I can do right now!
Thank you.
