Title: Oldest Indian accounts on this forum
Post by: legendster on January 21, 2015, 10:22:37 AM
So I just realized that Dashing and Dashingriddler might not be the same person. I could be wrong.
But what happened to all those people who were active here when I joined the forums in 2013 ?

Skang ? BTCIndia ? Pinwheel (lol) ?? I just recently saw a post of Amitabh on my Unocoin related post; but besides a handful of old timers I dont see anyone from back then. Seems like a lot has changed in the time I was gone from here...

Where are they and what are they upto ?

Dashing and Dashingriddler are different people.

Inspite new users get added to india subforum, the old ones are becoming inactive - dont know why.

What are the old ones upto? - I hope they are not mining bitcoins secretly haha

Skang responded with a LONG explanation about what he was upto, secretly building his super website of something, poor guy had his response removed due to the disk crash.

Yup, he was trying to find a real need (definitely not exchanges) of people which Bitcoin could serve.

Same here, I am writing a blog post on a similar but slightly different topic at the moment about it.

I am an Indian too, trying and struggling a lot to get investors for my Project called Bitknow which consists of Bitcoin knowledge and making them understand how to earn and spend Bitcoins, also to open up few things which I can't share here, on which everyone can spend them and have fun.

I don't think you would get good funding here!
Maybe try Main forum ?

No, no... I think you got me wrong there... I ain't asking for any investments from people here, I just thought I should share something I have in my mind as a concept to be put into action.

If you are looking for investors, you need to have a sound monetization strategy. Can you see the project making RoI for its investors easily?

I think it should be on new thread, but still let me answer it here :

1) BTCXIndia crisis is not actaully crisis. Its bank has decided that they do not want to serve high compliance risk category like Bitcoin ( same as gambling, sometimes pharma, digital codes etc ) There is nothing wrong in it. BTCXIndia has tow options a. Suspend operations b. Find new bankers. Now BTCXIndia has all the right in the world to decide best for his business and his customers and they chose to suspend operations. The only issue I think is the language they used in their closing press release, which can be misleading. Such statements may and will hurt bitcoin economy in India. I do appreciate  though that they are making sure everyone will have decent time to get their money back.

2) Unocoin should not have opened that thread in first place as its better to deal with such things with authorities and may involve lawyers at later stage. But that thread has just went far away. I do not think Sathvik or Unocin is hiding  anything and it is just somehow the thread exploded with all wrong reasons without anyone's fault. That was single transaction under scrutiny and Unocoin has done everything correct by having all KYC and AML and following their self regulated procedures. No one needs to worry if they have not done anything illegal.

Replied to PM.

Regards

With Unocoin comment I meant to say the discussion just gone owls, too much unnecessary panic and lots of arguments that meant nothing.

Just saying...

Uno aint going anywhere but as an exchange CS has a better future. Uno is good now because of it's semi instantaneous-ness.

Btw I was asking about what happened to the Indians who were here during the old forum days. Benu da is just one guy who's hanging out since then, others would be Dishwasher / Pinu da / Nilam Doc / Amitabh  (doc) lol

I hope Mr Dishwasher retaliates ^_^

Uno aint going anywhere but as an exchange CS has a better future. Uno is good now because of it's semi instantaneous-ness.

Btw I was asking about what happened to the Indians who were here during the old forum days. Benu da is just one guy who's hanging out since then, others would be Dishwasher / Pinu da / Nilam Doc / Amitabh  (doc) lol

I hope Mr Dishwasher retaliates ^_^

Well, this forum(Indian Thread) had nothing more to offer me in terms of intellectual development(discussions) as most of members have stopped evolving and focused on cashing. Therefore, I refrained myself from having any discussions here.

I've been bit busy with development of exchange that would put 'Best exchange' to shame. Exchanges is not about just price discovery and bridging market gap is much more that.. and I've been really busy with other aspects. Apart from that, I'm working on venture that leverages Blockchain technology to create a transparent world with few real life applications. Target launch is November, 2015. And occupied with another educational project based on MOOCs where I vision to provide mass education by overcoming barrier of internet and electricity. ;)

Enough of transaction fees for remittance back home!

I came up with idea few months ago where person remitting will send amount 'x' will always receive amount greater than x on other end. No matter volatility of Bitcoin. Isn't it ambitious and against law of market? Somehow, I'm taking out time to gather intelligence and plan to crunch data. Hopefully, I'll have data about business sustainability by end of this year.

So much to do and so less time! Argh! :-[

Thanks! I'm glad to inform that, I'll be soon meeting founder of VC firm to discuss and provide inputs on Bitcoin ecosystem investment. They look forward to invest or seems like pitched opportunity. That said, I've had brief progress with project of exchange and will be discussing same with MD of well-known exchange next month. Sometimes, I feel, I've come a long way and sometimes it feels like nothing has happened. Irony of intangible growth. :(

With regards to other project, planning to go through accelerator program for experts inputs, exposure and deal. MOOC is my priority.

P.S: I'm aggressively looking to diversify team with domain experts- Finance, marketing, technology, legal, operations, management etc. You gotta be expert in one.
