It freezes on my spare netbook (Intel Atom) for like 5 mins before starting up. The same app loads almost instantly on my desktop (Xeon+SSD).once I got my first bitcoins the program freezes on the loading images... I recommend blockchain.info's wallet, or some clever maneuvering at bitaddress.org or brainwallet.org to really double-up on security. What you are expiring is normal, especially on low end computers as the program have to go through it's cache. it can take awhile before it's ready for use.
