Title: BITMAIN Antminer S5 support and Over/UnderClocking thread & Fan-speed mod

 Power connections (4 X 6Pin PCIE).
Make sure to use a650Watt or Greater 80PLUS GOLD or PLATINUM PSU

Plug in an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of the miner

The ANTminer obtains an IP address through DHCP. Check your router's DHCP reservation list to find an ANTMiner device

FIRMWARE Update
Download the entire tar.gz archive. The file is extracted inside the S5's embedded computer. You need to upload the whole tar.gz file.
If the file is unarchived  (e.g. in MacOS X; re-download it using right-click and "Save as")

Login to the S5 web interface and goto Upgrade tab. Choose the correct file i.e. for e.g. SD-S5-20150107.tar.gz and press `Flash Image' button

Annoyed by the constant surging and whine of the fan on S5 ?,
Put small heatsinks on the two temperature sensor chips LM57A(8 pin chip at the center of the hashing boards)

Heatsink on the Temp sensor chip will lower fan speed to default low ~2.2Krpm.
 Do it for both the hashing boards and enjoy peace and quiet :)

both mine constantly ramp up and down in speed, they are in my basement which is nice and cool, I also see you have your frequency turned way up

what heat sink to buy....if u could post that as well...thx

Try these heatsinks.

The fans will stay at constant 2.2krpm and will not surge

Is it save applying heatsinks to all chips? Or that is a waist of money?
