Title: Help on obtaining Wallet Address?
Post by: ibrahim11 on January 25, 2015, 07:16:41 PM
Hi, i have a very old wallet.dat (2013) and I'm sure it has CLAM's in it. But before I want to claim my Clam's I want to check if there are any bitcoins in it. I downloaded the bitcoin client but how can I import my wallet?

Put it in the data directory.

Usually C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin assuming you use windows.

Head over to just-dice.com, read the faq on how to claim clams and you'll also able to check whether your address has clams or not.

I also suggest just-dice. You'll find out only from address if you have CLAMS. At least this step is risk free :)

After you move your BTC to a safe place, you can use just-dice also to redeem CLAMs. I did that too and it was quick and correct.
