Title: Yubikey - one key for many accounts?
Post by: samadamsbeer on July 16, 2012, 03:37:20 PM
I have seen several websites I use, email, Bitcoin, bank, etc. that use Yubi keys, which I do not have. Can I get one Yubi key for all these services? I'm hoping I don't need to get one for each! Thanks in advance.

bump, i'd like to know this as well. Yubico says so though "The two-factor SSH authentication supported by Yubico PAM can accommodate a wide range of solutions. A single account can have multiple YubiKeys assigned to it, allowing multiple users access to the same account, or a single YubiKey can be assigned to multiple accounts."

I know the MtGox Yubikeys are made special for MtGox, so you couldn't use them elsewhere.  It is possible you could use a single normal Yubikey for all your other needs though.

I know the google authenticator can be used for many accounts with different organisations.  Not sure about the Yubikey though!
