Title: In case you missed the coinbase countdown
Post by: coinableS on January 26, 2015, 02:18:18 PM
You can watch what happened here.  The rocket did a little twirly thing and a button popped up to go to the moon. You click and go to the new exchange. The market reacted poorly and fell. Glance at the exchange UI.

It reacted poorly to the to the moon animation? I suppose it was a bit cheesy, for something that must be professionally done.

I thought it was great, big news today about the first regulated US exchange. The market just opened!

I thought they could have done better on the animation, infact I was so disappointed I sold all my bitcoins immediately and bought some red candles with the proceeds. Will be well prepared when the power cuts out.

It's just another exchange with a few extra's. The lay-out looks amazing, though.

I guess people expected something spectacular to happen  :D

Yes, I've missed it. Does it matter? There are bigger news today.

Thanks for the info, I'll try Snagit. I'm not super pleased w/ CamStudio, freezes a lot... CamStudio was the only free one I could find that didn't try to install malware during install.

If a program is trying to install malware, I wouldn't trust it's publisher.

I can't log in from here since I can't bring my phone with me. What's the interface like?  If it's truly an exchange, can you also deal in dogecoin if you choose, or is it just bitcoin only?

The UI looks nice IMO. At the end of my video you can see the interface. It's a gun metal gray, has buy/sell on the left margin. The center is the order book. The right margin has a line chart. I only saw BTC/USD as an option, I did not notice any other currency pairs.

Will this be enough to sustain a decent uptrend or are we walking under a floor about to collapse? also hows this compared to the winklevii exchange?

Thanks for the share I was wondering what that whole moon animation was about
In the end it was just a new UI coinbase is using that is a disappointment was expecting something a bit larger than this when they mentioned the moon oh well.

The animation is a bit cheesy, but it's better to spend the money on security rather than animations. :P

It is more then a new UI. They are launching a new exchange. Users now no longer effectively are forced to buy to/from coinbase but instead trade with other coinbase customers. This will lead to increased liquidity and potentially higher prices

the whole concept of a rocket going to the moon is wrong.

It is something that I would expect from trollbox, not from coinbase
