I don't know if this is something true but my opinion is yes. I saw that video several months ago and they keep updating their websites. If true, they will crap their pants when they will learn about bitcoin  ;D

I don't think bitcoin wants anything.  It is a protocol and some software, not a conscious being.  I don't think you can speak for the entire community either, although I do think most here would agree that it is bad.

I think it's a boringly crafted strawman/bogeyman designed to appeal to conspiracy-theory-susceptibles.

edit: if the quote from BCB is legit, then it was an interesting idea... but unfortunately it seems that parodying conspiracy-types is like parodying creationists. No matter how hard you try to parody - it's indistinguishable from the real nutbaggery.

What you don't realize is that Bitcoin has been created and sponsored by Illumicorp all along. It's quite obviously the official NWO currency.

That was actually a pretty well made video. The writing hits on everything conspiracy theorists want to hear, pretty much bringing together a bunch of ideas into one cohesive organization. What I'm more impressed by is the level of attention to the design of the video. Everything works together perfectly to create the atmosphere of secrecy, professionalism, and coherence. The quiet, slow, almost atonal music goes well with the dark but empty set, and the Illumicorp logo looks like a standard company logo while still maintaining some core ideas. The triangular shape shows the distribution of classes in their distinct layers, with the top layer having an orange circle seemingly covered with blinds. The orange reminds me most of a sunrise/sunset with the light coming through a thick atmosphere. Still, the "sun" is covered with black stripes to maintain the idea of being a secret sunrise which only the few at the top of the triangle know about. Clever design.

The best part is definitely the actor. He's an older man in a black suit, looking about the age to be peaking out in his business career as a CEO. He smiles welcomingly when talking about how great the future will be, but then manages to work in a little bit of "evil overlord" smile when he mentions murder as a method of control. He doesn't flinch when bringing up the absurd idea of controlling the weather, instead sounding exactly like a large company's announcement of a new product. His character encapsulates so many of the ideas behind these NWO-Illuminati-ConspiracyStuff ideas.

Compared to most of the other "Here's the real truth" blogs written by one guy nobody knows, with old fashioned hit counters and walls of text that randomly get bolded to show how important these ideas truly are, this video is amazingly well done.

I'm sure they could have used your vast media empire/political constituency/giant pile of money/powerful military forces...

The power that may be is really just a bunch of brats with no sense of responsibility in the larger world. They wanna make mooooooooooney...Until they got screwed over by bitcoin.

This was hilarious. Good to see parody done well.

Very well written.  You should be a reviewer!  Start a more general interest blog and write brief reviews about bitcoin sites/services.  Charts/exchanges and other sites etc.  Might be helpful for all the n00bs trying to figure out the world of bit coin.  I'd read it.  Just a thought. We could use some additional pr that isn't so techno-geek centric.

I have to admit I have a bit of 'evil overlord' in me and that video was delicious.

If bitcoin prices go north of $1000 each you can bet a conspiracy will run wild about bitcoin early adopters  ruling the world :)

I know it's an old thread but I think this has to be said:

I'm very disappointed that there are still people who don't take stuff like this serious. It's a fact that the 'elite' has too much power and all this is a real threat for liberty and freedom. It doesn't matter if that video is a fake or not as long as there is no proof that the stuff in it can't be true. If you know a little bit about having power you should be aware of the risks. Bitcoin is the first real thread to the centralized money system and I'm very sure that this is one of the main reasons of bitcoins existence and success. I know a lot of you are scared to talk about this and according to the law of attraction we should focus on bitcoins implementation everywhere instead of trying to expose the NWO, but sometimes we have to talk about stuff like this to open some eyes. Ask yourself why Stallmans speeches are about the same issue every time. It's because people don't get why freedom is that important. Wake up and you'll see bitcoins real greatness.

There's not much you can do when someone doesn't want to open their eyes, and crazy ass stories like this only serve to keep them closed.  Don't get me wrong, there are absolutely large forces at work that are keeping the average man down, but the level of secrecy and international cooperation necessary for these types of stories to be real is inhuman.
