Title: Open-Air chassis
Post by: Mousepotato on January 27, 2015, 04:22:00 PM
I know this has been covered before, but the Search feature is disabled. Does anybody know where I can get a turn-key open-air  chassis? The kind that people used to build GPU mining systems on. Basically I'm looking to build a bad ass gaming system with easy access :D

Is Spotswood still building stuff like that? I remember seeing something in the Marketplace (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0) a month or two ago.

Thanks :) There were a few vendors for open-air rigs using extruded aluminum with those plastic corner pieces. I could get the hardware from Home Depot, but I don't have the tools/time to drill all the holes.

Wait, what? He's building a gaming system, not a GPU mining rig, and wants an open-air case like people have used in the past for GPU mining rigs. Nothing you just said makes sense.

I'm still building all manner of "open-air" rigs, from tech stations to Ikea Helmer replacement drawers!

Back in the GPU mining days, I used to use a dish drying rack from Walmart that cost $5.  Worked like a charm.  ;)

My first two i used this "test bench" for open air case http://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-11-112-287.  After that i resized how much I could save using home made open air cases(I  liked to use risers and use something to hang them above).
