Title: How come the Mining hardware comparison page is not updated recently?
Post by: 420 on July 18, 2012, 02:00:50 AM
I can tell it is not updated at least the cards and performance because there is none that show a PCI-E 3.0 slot

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

And the prices for eBay common cards are recorded in FEB 2012, prices for 5870 for example are cheaper

There are current GPU and FPGAs listed. The Radeon 79xx series is listed as PCIe 2.0 for some reason instead of 3.0.

It is a wiki, updated by the community (much like this forum). Please contribute to keep the list updated. Log in, and edit the information if you know of errors, or have results to contribute.

I wish they would of added 7950 and other results. It took me forever to find them

"They" is "us".  It's a wiki so feel free to add/change any information there.

Exactly. I have added my cards recently.

Yes the lack of 7950 results is due to fewer miners with them and none of the ones with them have contributed to the wiki.

Sapphire 7950 with a mild overlock does 500 MH ish.

Because soon all these GPU will be worthless for BTC mining ... enjoy ASIC baby !!! :D

The PCIe version column can likely be removed completely.  PCIe is both forward and backward compatible (you can use PCIe 3 card in PCIe 1 slot or PCIe 1 card in a PCIe 3 slot) and it has no effect at all on hashing rate.

Hell if you rigged a PCIe to serial port adapter it would hash just fine.  Badnwidth requirements between host and hashing processor (GPU/FPGA/ASIC) vary depending on card speed & nonce range but are still in the low kbps range.

What is the highest hashing consumer GPU? is 7990 released yet?

7990 is not released yet. I think the best mining card is 6990, but best individual gpu is 7970

because 6990 is dual gpu and 7990 will be dual right
