Good news. I'm not that convinced with Coinbase, but the more Bloomberg talks about BTC, the better.

Exactly.  It is disappointing though how many states that are not able to operate in yet.  Still, this is good news for bitcoin.

Many thanks for the link. While off to a rocky start I think 2015 will be remembered as the year crypto goes mainstream.

Youtube worked for me.  Thanks for the link.

It is also a great deal, not that the exchange is born, but that the media is taking it a "little" more seriously.

I think this is the start of the narrative of "bitcoin is a joke and is for jokers" to "hey, this maybe might just be something someday".

Was expecting some BS like that since we heard from the regulators it would be a state by state process, we will probably have 5-10 states still messing about in 3 years time.

Anyway, good job coinbase.

they are not regulated in various states. I think the TV time has better use than give a list of site where they are regulated and where they aren't, info that anyone interested can easily get by himself

Any reason why only certain states allow that? Is it because of different regulations?

Same things happens with weed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis_by_U.S._jurisdiction

Maybe USA is just too big and too diverse to offer 1 law for all, you'd have to look into the history of the different states.

Coinbase lied when they said they have a license in California. I think this is a subject not Bitcoin at TV.... :)

Coinbase does have license in California and they said otherwise. So, they are not a legitimate exchange

What an awesome thing that Bitcoin exposure in the media isn't even such a big thing anymore! It's almost a daily occurrence that Bitcoin startups and new services appear on "regular" news channels, newspapers, etc.!

I don't think they were so much lying but that people just misunderstood what they were saying. It appears that coinbase does not think they need any kind of license in CA so they are operating in CA (without a license).
