What do you guys think is the best Android phone to get?

I might be in the market for a new phone soon and I have no idea what to get. I don't need a really high-spec phone, I only use my phone for calls/texts/email/youtube. I currently have a GT-i9000. I'd like to get a large screen phone. I also run cyanogenmod and I'd prefer a device that can run it.

So what do you guys think are the best Android phones available now?

i use galaxy note 4 and i love it .......custom rom obviously though  :)
about to move to cm 12 on android 5.0 once they work out the bugs

I was looking at the Galaxy note series. They are pretty expensive! don't think I could justify spending that much on a phone. I paid 250euro no contract for my Galaxy S gt-i9000 and that was 5 years ago!

they are top of the range but i use it xx hours a day so i want the best screen and fastest phone i can get
it does almost everything my laptop can do .....
great camera too ,amazing pics

The Oneplus One has excellent specs for the price.

G3 is fast and has the sharpest screen available, but battery life is poor (although that might be partly La'Zooz fault).

Yes I was considering this, especially since its stock cyanogenmod. It's my fallback in case I don't find anything else, I'd prefer to get something else.

In the same price range... Nexus 6 or LG G3 perhaps?

What do you guys think is the best Android phone to get?

I might be in the market for a new phone soon as the WiFi on my 5 year old GT-i9000 isn't working correctly and I have no idea what to get. I don't need a really high-spec phone, I only use my phone for calls/texts/email/youtube.  I'd like to get a large screen phone. I also run cyanogenmod and I'd prefer a device that can run it.

For best expensive phone I recommend the Xperia z2 or z3, (they have gorilla glass) but are still really fragile.

For a cheaper phone (has a small low res screen) I recommend the NEC terrain, it's awkward and clunky but does the job and is really tough.

I feel the value is no longer there for the OnePlus One. When it came out, it was priced great in comparison to the G3 ($350 vs. $550). However, now that the G3 is pretty cheap, (only a couple dollars more than the OnePlus One) the savings aren't really there anymore. The Note 3 can also be picked up used on eBay for <$300 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-N900-Galaxy-Note-3-32-GB-Factory-Unlocked-Black-White-Gold-Smartphone-/361139577286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item541598a1c6) and has slightly better specs than the OnePlus One.

My advice: Buy the Note 3.

If you like Cyanogenmod pre-loaded phones, Oppo N1 is also a good alternative compared to OnePlus One:

You may fix a budget, though. There are many good android phone including the Nexus series, but the choice may very well depend upon how much you're willing to spend.

Galaxy Note 4 is a fantastic device.

If I didn't already have a phone I would definitely go for the Note 4.

The 3 and 4 are pretty decent.

Also take a look at the alpha.

Touchwiz is pretty laggy.

If you guys really want some great phone plus nice price I suggest you check chinese smartphone companies. Some of them are making great phones not really different from top tier Samsung Galaxy phone or other top seller.

I would also recommend the HTC One M8 though it may be out of OP's price range and maybe overkill if you don't need a flashy phone.

I'm too paranoid to use a privacy-themed phone. It would be the best device to insert backdoors into... :D

some teething pains with it
