Title: What should I do?
Post by: Jarx on January 28, 2015, 11:01:57 PM
Hello

Recently I coded a dice-game and its almost finished. It has crowd-funded bankroll and runs like JD (%10 commission). Also it will be one of the best dice-sites ever because has a lot of features and very smooth.

Anyway, I want to open it but I have some important stuffs in my head:
-I dont want to run it anonym but if I run it non-anonym probably I go to jail in my country.
-If I open I cant fund a lot of bankroll because I dont have so much and I am student.
-If I open I dont know If I can handle so much stress. I cant imagine how PRC or JD owner living.

If I sell the script I don't know how much price I should put, also I cant quote a price.

What sould I do? I have to earn some money because I have an important lawsuit very soon.

Thanks.

1) You shouldn't have created it then
2) You shouldn't have created it then
3) You shouldn't have created it then

Is common sense really that hard?

1.The reason for being non-anonym is that it cuts down the risk of someone stealing the bankroll. So get someone like an escrow or trusted member to  handle funds.
2. If someone escrows or multi sigs the funds,  you can get funding from people.
3. Thats going to be there at the start .After one point, it just runs on it self most of the day, except for handling bugs, or refilling hotwallet.

I would suggest you open it and remain semi anonymous, like Dooglus.

On many sites frequently someone will want to buy the site and even if not, the site is worth more as a successful operating site.  I think moneypot sold for a lot after being open awhile.

Since you don't have a lot of btc, consider making it an altcoin site.  That may also make it easier to attract investors.

Keep in mind I have no clue, I'm just a random dude on a message board, but that's what I would do if I could code a good dice site.

Good Luck.

Way to many dice sites out there. Not sure what features can be added that would make someone want to play at your site over others that have been around far longer and can be trusted. Who wants to gamble and the gamble on if they will get paid or not?  ;D Remember, gaining trust with dice sites is hard these days.

You're betting off just selling it and moving on to a new and unique project ;) Use the funds you get from selling and try to build something that hasn't been done 100 times already.

Also, after seeing:

Some might think you're gonna take deposits and investments and run. Another reason for you to just sell the script. Even with the house edge, there is no guarantee you'll come out on top unless you're doing some shady shit.

Too many dice sites.

If you dont have the funds to advertise your site, you wont be expecting lots of traffic.

You are just a student and you already have an important lawsuit coming up?
Try putting up the scrip for sale in the digital goods section. You may attract a lot of trolls, but if you are lucky you may also see some genuine interest.

You are student, why don't you try to work ?
work from internet offer various flexible opportunitys that do not require hard engagements

you can also sell not just the script but all the project like a complete pack, that's will give your project sinicativlly bigger value

If you are sure that your script has awesome features then you can sell it. Or you can collaborate with a partner who can provide you a bank roll.

Also I cant use the money that not belongs to me. I just can't. So running with bankroll or cheating investors is not even in my mind and wont be never.

I'm sure others said the same. What guarantees do we have you wouldn't run? Can't just take your word for it. Have you seen a couple of the bigger dice sites here that run with BTC or claimed "hacked"? So not only do investors have to worry about you running but they also have to worry about the site getting hacked and losing BTC.

Not saying you would run or scam... I just think you're better off selling the script and using the bitcoin for another project. The newer dice sites struggle around here because they don't have the bankroll, can't secure their site and lose BTC after hacks or just can't get players.

If the script is good , people will surely buy it, although there isn't much demand for dice scripts since there is so many dice sites and people are getting a bit bored with the (in my opinion)
Try something new if you are good at programming, maybe blackjack or something completely original no one has thought of.

If you are somewhere like an Asian country where you will face serious reprimand, don't do it.
Sell it to someone using escrow. I have no idea of the price, especially without seeing it.  I agree with other comments, why did you write it if you can't use it?

I suggest not to open a crowd-funded website since you're not exactly trusted and you don't have any funds for marketing. Plus there's been way too many crowd-funded websites that have been dishonest. Imo, your only option is to attempt selling your dice script, which will be hard since you don't have a reputation.

Well, if you plan on doing this, might be good to have an experienced coder look into it, before someone buys it .
makes it safe.

Open it with a test mode and let people try it out, maybe it's not as fantastic as you say it is. Is Bitcoin trading illegal where you are or is not recognized as money? If it the latter than you're safe, since it would be just a game.

1. Looking your condition, it's the best you run it anonymous
2. Allow players invest their bitcoin to your bankroll, and share your profit with investor
3. If you offer good & provably fair gambling site with good customer service. Everyone will be happy & you will happy too
4. Don't sell your script, most people will use it to scamming people

Anyway, good luck if you decided to open your dice site

Stop listening to all these miserable people here who are giving you sht about it and suggesting "go get a job" and so on. This site, if it really is coded as well as you say and with several features, is worth more than they earn in a year.
You coded a dice game, with investments and seems much more. That is a feat by itself.

If you do something well, people will follow and they will play on your site.

From the looks of it you need to run it anon, because the problems that can come from sore losers or who knows what. It really is not worth it to put yourself at risk.

As for bankroll. You can always start small and work yourself up, or contact a bigger investor and see if you can work something out.

If you want to sell it. I suggest you talk to other dice site owners and ask roughly how much they would charge for their site, or how much did it cost to create it. And make up your price after you have seen what others are worth and what you have, that they dont.

I wish you best of luck in what ever you decide to do!
