Title: Bitcoin Killer App
Post by: BitPost on January 29, 2015, 11:38:51 AM
Hey guys,
We often hear an expression "a Bitcoin killer app". We would like to hear what you think about that. Does it already exist? If not, what features should it have? In your opinion, what kind of an app should it be?
Many thanks for any thoughts

I never heard of this to be honest , but I was just searching and found some good informations . It never hurts to learn new informations
Here is how they will look like :
  • Digital resources – like energy, bandwidth, storage and computation – will be allocated to the connected devices and services that need them through efficient, bitcoin-based marketplaces. Load your smartphone with bitcoin, and it will automatically purchase access to the least expensive Wi-Fi hotspots as you roam Paris. And one day, your phone could pay for itself by selling connectivity back into a mesh network, similar to how solar panels can sell energy back to the power grid today.
  • Immersive virtual worlds accessed through devices like the Oculus Rift will have bitcoin-based economies, meaning there will be no bright dividing lines between where these virtual economies end and the real world economy begins. People will walk virtual pets to earn money for a flesh-and-blood Chihuahua. Teens will become millionaires for projects they launch in virtual worlds (sneak preview: today’s YouTube stars and League of Legends players you’ve never heard of). As the size of these virtual world economies grow, currencies that don’t cross over easily, like Euros, will feel antiquated.
  • Synthetic versions of financial assets will be traded on the block chain, reducing default risk, increasing transparency and providing universal access to financial instruments. Farmers will buy crop futures they couldn’t previously access. Better still, smart farms will automatically buy and sell hedging contracts throughout the season using data about soil, weather, yields and prices.
.....

I'm always concerned about security so my ideal dream of a killer app would be something like a wallet which is almost non hackable. When I say almost, that is close to virtually safe from any form of attack.

There is no killer app for Bitcoin at the moment, we'd all be millionaires by now.   :'(

That said, there's no shortage of development, investment, and promotion going on that could prevent that killer app from launching.

There's the wallet apps, the hardware wallet devices, the Xapo debit cards...but we don't quite have our instagram, our tinder, our Uber, our Facebook just yet.

Perhaps once Paypal launches with Bitcoin payments or another brand new application that raises awareness as well functionality, it'll pique the interest of the masses.

But at the moment, no killer app.

If there's nothing called "The Killer App" right now, can you just imagine one? What do you personally need from a Bitcoin app? What do you lack in current apps?

Check out Getgems, once complete it will bring a new era of communicating made possible by crypto technology.
