Title: Gridseed 5-Chip no longer having shares submitted/accepted?
Post by: thatwilsonnerd on January 30, 2015, 09:07:55 PM
I have a Gridseed 5-chip that was get shares accepted just fine until sometime very early this morning. I'm mining LTC only with it and it seems to be hashing (well, it shows a has rate - output from cgminer attached). I'm running this on CentOS w/ cgminer:

upload picture (http://postimage.org/)

Originally I had just a 12V 1A power cord plugged into it, but after I noticing nothing was getting accepted anymore, I switched it out to a 12V 1/2/3/4A power brick with no luck.

Any thoughts?

edit to add my launch command:

Code:
sudo ./cgminer --scrypt --url=stratum+tcp://us.litecoinpool.org:3333 --userpass=thatwilsonnerd.gsd0:XXXX --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=850,chips=5 --hotplug=5

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. I know what the work restart is. My problem is that all of a sudden, my miner is not having any shares accepted/rejected/etc. It's like it just stopped submitting.

Interesting - I moved it to another server I have and it seems to be submitting shares just fine with the newer power brick.

As far as I remember, you better use 12V 2A for Gridseeds. Had a similar problem with a 12V 1A PSU.
The problem you experienced usually happens with Gridsees if

1. difficulty is too high
2. PSU with not enough power
