Very few folks can stay in a tiny defined space for that long. It would drive me up the wall....

What about toilet?

Obviousuly that too , how do you want someone to stay 70 days without going to the toilet . they shouldn't care much about that since they will be in space tho haha
I would become a volunteer if I could , what is listed there is basically what I do everyday . just with NASA it's better since I get paid  ::)

You would have to do toilet whilst in bed...  this is the least of your worries.  Muscles wasting away and losing core body strength would be a small concern.  Back and hip problems after maybe.  bedsores could be a problem or is that only if you remain still in bed?

Easy money if you ask me, if you ever have a bad injury you could be in bed for longer without pay and in pain.

I don’t know how this study could be legal. What is the Federal Minimum Wage? At 168 hours a week (since you have NO time away from the “job” for $1200 per week you’re getting $7.15 per hour STRAIGHT TIME with NO OVERTIME PAY. It’s a federal job so this shouldn’t be legitimate.

Apart from that staying in bed without any exercise would be all another challenge.

You would repeatedly have to take toilet breaks to not lose on exercise.

I don't think they are considering it like an employment for the entire 70 days. They are probably not counting the sleep you would have had in your normal routine as well.

Not a bad deal

You would have really big problems with muscles and you wouldn't be able to stand on your own for another at least 30 days without exercising in bed.

I can do it provided my gf's with me on the bed for the whole time too
And my muscles won't go loose  ;) IF you know*

No excercising means really no moving so they wouldn't lol.

Hospitals are crammed full of possible participants. Next time I'm in a coma, I'll be sure to sign up!  ;)

lol they probably want to interact with your daily is the problem, you likely need to verbally communicate anything about your physiology.

yeah, but staying the the very same position whole day and night, without possibility for a simple leg stretch is insane.
i also would try to do this , but i know it would be insanely hard to do after a couple of days..

If you cant stretch its going to be unhealthy as hell.

I would probably take this if it is offered to me. It will be a great challenge and a torture for sure of not being able to go out of the bed and be just staying in one place for the rest of the 70 days. For Science and for the money, why not? :)

You mean I get paid to play games all day? No wife, no kids for more than 2 months. Throw in some ice cream and Im liable to do this for half what they offer.

LOoks like people in the hospital would be perfect for this kind of scheme, as they are mostly on bed rest for upto 2 months.
And what better way to get paid for it.

Actually they are looking for healthy people to do it and see the effects it will cause

70 days is 2 1/2 months or 10 weeks. SO that's equivalent to $1800 a week. If you make less then $93,600 per year ($1800 x 52 weeks) this is a good deal for you!

Its not such a good deal for your health. After 70 days of lying down your heart will be weak as a baby.
You will have gained a lot of weight. You will have bed sores. You will lose all muscle tone.
