Crypto Watcher

[AM] AeroME | formerly known as [AERO] Aero | 100% PoS | Anonymous Sending

SCAM Alert level is currently low

AM AeroMe is low level risk of executing a scam know as the "manual coinswap".

How does the "manual coinswap" scam work?

1) Create a new coin that is 100% premined.

2) Ask for users of the old coin (Aero) to exchange their coins for the new coin (AeroMe) before a deadline.

3) Burn or keep all unclaimed new coins (AeroMe).

4) Pump AeroMe.

5) Release a new feature to generate news and buy support.

6) Dump AeroMe.

----------------------------

For your safety,

The following guidelines should always be followed when performing a coinswap.

First of all.. People seriously had an unreasonable amount of time to make the swap. The fact that you didn't swap screams that you have been paying 0 attention to your investments for EXTENDED periods of time.

And you were sleeping whole three months?  :o

Secondly.. the dev, and multiple community holders have offered to help find a solution. Did you bother to contact ANY of them? I certainly haven't seen you in slack yet.

If your coins are in fact dated from the swap period you might find you can get them swapped still..

If you bought up aero thinking you could do a late swap for hella profit.. well then you're the scammer.. My money is on this since it seems to haven't even bothered to chat with the dev who reaached out to help provided you're genuine..

I have an Aero paper wallet from 4 months ago.

What is AeroME?

I've been looking into things and it looks like AERO did a manual coin swap that has now expired. Is this correct?

My AERO is now worthless?

i think if its genuinely 4 months old i believe we can help you out

dont panic , let try to find a way to get your coins

yes, as Idol said, if its really 4mo. old paper wallet.. maybe there is something we can help you with.. idk will need to check first.

That is correct. In theory they are worthless.
But the community is known to help out their members, so I would suggest to join slack. (Link (https://crypto.typeform.com/to/ahJtmF)).
I am sure we can figure out a way to help you.

KL, Yes, a great suggestion perhaps we can discuss in slack with fartbags (sorry, I have to lol at the name).. to see what can be done to help.
If you wish to you can always PM me where where we can have a private conversations to asses what amount of AERO we are talking about here.
If its not a ridiculously high number Im sure we can help..

The coin swap was NEEDED to facilitate the new platform coming out.. it HAD to be done and the entire community understood, agreed, and was happy to have it happen. We spent a good deal of time going over the best way to go about it as a community too..

I want to stop all "manual coinswap" scams.
I don't care about getting my coins swapped anymore. I would feel awful knowing I sold someone a pump 'n dump scam.

The devs have a lot of skills. It's sad to see them going this route.

Yup. Not even remotely manual.. 100% of coins stored on bittrex were swapped over by bittrex themselves. Bittrex distributed AeroME... do your homework before trying to FUD.

What was the reason for making a new chain?

What was the reason for making a new chain?

The decentralized marketplace exchange platform the dev is making required "hooks" and other upgrades if I recall correctly. The old coin just wasn't up to the task for such a beastly platform. It needed to be upgraded. You can come ask the dev if you want more specifications on that. :)

Basic definition of theft.

(1)A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it; and “thief” and “steal” shall be construed accordingly.
(2)It is immaterial whether the appropriation is made with a view to gain, or is made for the thief’s own benefit.
(3)The five following sections of this Act shall have effect as regards the interpretation and operation of this section (and, except as otherwise provided by this Act, shall apply only for purposes of this section).

This does not constitute theft
The property is still yours..
I never tried to take anything from you!
I have no intention of depriving you from anything. I have even offered to help you which goes against what has already been stated in this community regarding swap rules.
I have nothing to gain from your issues..
I have not benefited from anything..

That link will most likely show up on the google results underneath the link to this thread.

Hopefully this link prevents anyone from losing money during this pump and dump scam.

I HAVE OFFERED TO HELP YOU!!!!

Aero has done nothing to ensure transparency.

This is just incorrect on so many different levels. I hate to say this but if you had been an active participant in this community you would have been kept abreast about any up and coming issues.!

Quote from: fart
It's impossible to answer questions of where the coins came from.

Incorrect.. Give me your TXID of each of the transactions you wish to claim I can find out exactly where they came from and what date/time. np's

If the AERO devs want to premine 100% of all the coins then just do it without trying to cover it up.

Have you seen the number of coins swapped??? Look back a few pages..

Quote from: fart
It's perfectly fine to be 100% premined. Many coins do this and are successful.
Do you have an intimate knowledge of the internal workings of the AM crypto systems..  more particularly the Aero Platform and project (I doubt it)?

What happened that a made the old wallet forward-incompatible with the new wallet?
You mean backwards-compatible right?

Read my friend.. All 240+ pages the information is all here.. spend the time researching your questions as opposed to coming out with crap, I give you a tip.. (Hooks) that should narrow your search down..

I understand you are frustrated, but to call something which obviously you don't understand a flat-out scam is just uncalled for.
You remind me a little about this other guy (NTL500) who was quite like you at first, but in time he to slowly realized this is no scam and in fact we became quite friendly a mutual respect was nurtured between us.

To help you understand and in time hopefully help you to realize I am not a scammer nor, are the project goals. I have certain principles and a specific ethical stance which I will not allow to be jilted/perverted by/for anyone.

Everything has and will be done with community consensus.

If you wish to seek help from myself please be so kind and contact me
I am available via IRC (#aerocoin)
Our slack group or here via PM.

This is the last time I will offer my help on this matter..
So, I urge you to please take up my offer.

Respectfully,

Majika

I experienced a legitimate issue with the coin-swap.  I also thought scam when my DM's went unanswered.  However, once I reached out to the community and got Majika's attention, the issue was resolved immediately.

You cannot refuse to be helped and then claim scam because of lack of help!

instead of whining, why not try to actually learn to trade and make some btc out of these moves?  the beauty of cryptocurrency trading is you can do it with very little capital because fees are low and it's easy to move funds from point A to point B.

AeroMe has been dropped to a low level risk of executing a manual coin swap scam.

It looks like AeroMe performed a manual coin swap with no ill intention. However, as result of the manual coin swap process, the blockchain was restarted and not all coins were returned to every wallet on the previous blockchain. Which wallets and their balance is unknown to the public at this time.
