I am sure a lot of people are aware about that . Its best to use Darkcoin if you want guaranteed anonymity .

Exactly. You can make cash transactions anonymously as well, but if you're sloppy with either cash or bitcoin you will get caught if you're doing something against the law with them.

I am not worried about people who do illegal things(depends on what exactly they are doing, since a lot of laws are shit)

Yes, we know that bitcoin is not anonymous and it should not be anonymous.
However bitcoin is pseudo anonymous. You can be anonymous if you know what you are doing. There are many coin mixing services that can help you to be anonymous. And yes, you cannot doxed using a simple bitcoin address(provided that you are not using your address with your identity).

Not necessarily... you could steal or clone someones card and you could use it pretty anonymously then, though obviously doesn't give you as much protection as bitcoin does and you're not doing anything illegal. You could use those top up credit cards as well which I think you can use some of them without providing details.

I am sure most are aware that Bitcoin normally is not anonymous. It can have a good amount of anonymity quite easily if necessary by running through a few exchanges and mixers.

Bitcoin is annonymus and only the person who don't know how to use it will make it not annonymus , some people use the same Bitcoin adress over and over and on several forums etc ... then they ask their selfs why they got hacked , how they got doxed etc ...
Darkcoin is good because of the full annonimity and off chain transaction indeed .. still Bitcoin is not bad at all and there is a project under developement called Zerocoin & Zerocash which will make Bitcoin fully annonymus , I wonder when it's going to be released tho . For now you can simply use Bitcoin Mixer .

Using change addresses and receiving address used only once will help to certain extent. In the end it is still your responsibility to adopt good practices in order to protect privacy

Not really. If you're sloppy even mixing services wont help you. I'm sure Ross used them too though Silk Road had their own internal tumblers, but when you get caught with your wallets you can easily backtrace the transactions.

Bitcoin is build on bitcoinchain which is like a ledger with all transactions in. It`s not anonymous. But it`s hard to find owner of the transaction unless it`s discovered in his notebook.

A friendly reminder.

Friendly?  Have you read it, it spews hate and scorn all over the place.

I think he was being sarcastic when he said friendly.

Bitcoin is anonymous, only if u know how to make it anonymous.
I agree, Bitcoin could be almost untraceable if you are careful.

In Bitcoin all transaction are only random numbers, so It's difficult to find someone if these random numbers come from random servers. :P

Of course it is not anonymous.
It is pseudonymous and if you are not careful, your identity may be revealed.

I dont support any crime as well but im just curious: how are you supossed to make it anonymous? even if you use a bitcoin mixer and whatnot, its useless since say you want to buy weed in SK: you have to tell the name and address to the seller, and this seller could very well be the feds. So whats the point?

A friendly reminder that if you connect to it through Tor, you're anonymous.

Not if you send the coins straight to your wallet and don't even bother mixing them and then get caught with said wallets and logged in as a criminal mastermind, which is what he did  ;D. You can have certain anonymity though if you're smart about it.

Well thats what it is, A friendly reminder.

Bitcoin is like credit card transactions that have been recorded and can be reviewed by other people.

Bitcoin is not completely anonymous by itself, no. But if you take little effort, it's quite easy to make sure your bitcoins ARE 100% anonymous.

Anyone who actually knows about Bitcoin already knows Bitcoin isn't fully anonymous, anyone who doesn't is either going to ignore this fact or is too stupid to realise anyway.

this only concerns shady people who are doing illegal stuff with bitcoin not the general users, and they know how to become anonymous! so no need for the article there either :D

A friendly reminder that if you connect to it through Tor, you're anonymous.

Not necessarily. It depends how safe and smart you have been. If you use tor but have previously publicly posted an address that can be connected to you it can easily be found. You could also use two or more addresses to send funds which are then spend linked and could be used to track you.

Again not necessarily. They may just not want their identity associated with something they are purchasing. Also, just because something the government say is illegal doesn't mean it is right or wrong to purchase it or take part in the activity.
