Title: Super Bowl and the Bitcoin price
Post by: Elwar on February 01, 2015, 10:03:14 PM
2011: Price down(ish)     NFC wins
2012: about the same     AFC wins
2013: Price up               AFC wins
2014: Price down           NFC wins

So, if the pattern holds, if the Patriots (AFC) win, the price will go up (or maybe stay the same). Seattle (NFC) wins, price goes down.

Based on this, who will you be rooting for?

Go PATRIOTS!

(Even though I could care less about the Super Bowl)

I know nothing of this super bowl apart from when breasts fall out of clothing.

It would be fun to have a price rise for once so I'll go with whatever result can supply that.

Anyways If you are not rooting for Lynch to get a td and grab his crotch, you are a bad person.

How rude.  There is nothing low brow about watching people hit each other and gambling on a man to grab his junk  :-[

I hate the patriots and am sad they won but  I doubt this has anything to do with the bitcoin price. Just want to see it go up though  :'(

There is no direct relationship between the Bitcoin price and the Super Bowl game result.

But did someone say the World Cup Games is one of the reason that Bitcoin rose up to $650 last summer.

what a stupid call.  Carroll should be fired.

a quick slant pass into traffic was asinine.  give it to Lynch and game over.

Then you hate the game as it is played today.  Yet again the Pats prove that the age old rushing or long bomb game perfected by so many of the traditional powerhouse southern and western teams is dead.  And yes I know almost nothing about football :-).

So true on such a large scale! This call is almost laughable and will go down as one of the worst decisions in football or Super Bowl history. I was floored to see it happen, the defensive back read it a mile away and scored himself mass cred and future worth by this retardedness. Oh and Katy Perry was hot as ever tonight.

Katy Perry was hot as heck.  my wife and i just watched the replay of the halftime show about 3x straight, it was so good.

when i saw Wilson go into the shot gun on that 2nd down at the half yard line, i started screaming "no...no...NO...do not put the ball in the air!!!"  sure enough, he throws that slant.  uggghhhh.

saw the interview of Carroll after the game and he was dissembling something about getting to 3rd or 4th down when, of course, he'd run Lynch.  he never figured the slant would get intercepted.  he did admit, however, he made a mistake and it was his fault.  what a way to lose the big game.

we have a family friend whose son played for Carroll one year at USC and said he is a jerk with a monstrous ego.  so i'm biased.  but it was a colossally stupid call no doubt.  he'll never live it down.

I doubt that the superbowl really has any effect on the bitcoin price

I am pretty sure it's just coincidence.

Or does some kind of bitcoin related company sponsor one of the teams?

I got the idea from this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_indicator

Accurate 80% of the time at predicting the direction of the DOW.

Though looking at all of the past bitcoin prices there was no huge swing, just slightly up or down. All coincidental.

The stupid super bowl is so obviously and blatantly rigged its not funny. Throw the ball if you want to throw the game and yeah thats exactly what happened. What a pile of excrement excuse for entertainment.
