Will this make an impact to the current bitcoin price?

There are probably tons of apps having the same functionality so not sure how this is going to be any different.
Except maybe for the incoming fund notification functionality to coinbase account.

I don't think an app can alone impact the price, unless it makes a big difference in the lives of people.

if it will be on google play then a lot more new people will get interested in bitcoin, what could lead to more buys and price change

Bitcoin does not need Google to succeed. Google can accelerate bitcoin acceptance. It is much cheaper for Google to accept bitcoin than selling those Google play prepaid cards. So bitcoin will be useful to Google too.

bitcoin doesn't need it but it will help. i think when amazon accepts bitcoin payments it will be much better news.

A truly decentralized entity would not "need" any single person, place, thing, or corporation to validate its existence. I put Google in the "Would be nice to have, but it's not necessary" category as far as Bitcoin is concerned.

This won't affect the price. But it's an interesting step and surely noteworthy. It show how companies take interest in Bitcoin and are starting their own little experiments, so to say. What ever comes of those experiments... only time will tell!

But when companies are working together with Bitcoin it will give positive signals to the masses and they may be more inclined to look into it.

Totally dont, but this is just good publicity for bitcoin, it doesnt matter who partners with go, the protocol is still independent.

Any company or product needs google to gain visibility, and BTC is no different.

Google needs bitcoin..and they're admitting it if not in the media, through their actions.

No they don't, google handles most of the internet traffic today, they're the overlord, if google removes bitcoin from its search results influx of new bitcoin users will grind to a halt.

Google is a big mafia and decide what and what isn't moraly correct. Example, they let that idiot PerezHilton do whatever he wants and still get millions of adsense, but then if you use a single picture that happens to be copyrighted or is of "lewd" content (the entire perezhilton website is of lewd content) then they can cancel your adsense account for life without giving any particular explaination. Motherfuckers.

Build your own multi billion corporation and make them obsolete then.

As many of us know, the search engine of Google is the most widely-used search engine in the world. It handles the vast majority of searches and traffics in the internet, which is a good thing for Bitcoin. It can obtain some publicity because of tying up with Google, but I don't think it will affect that much with regards to the price. Bitcoin can stand alone, yes. But without enough publicity, adoption rate would be much slower.

I think google should learn the bitcoin network and help to improve it, they will get profit from it

What bitcoin really needs right now is publicity related to adoption and integration. And that is especially when we see some big online auction marketplace decided to use bitcoin as one of their payment methods. That will really make a whole lot of difference.

I feel having bitcoin with google would really help with promoting it to the public.

The more companies accepted/using/promoting Btc can only be a good thing imo.

I find it interesting that originally all of the large businesses and companies blacklisted Bitcoin, and now they are coming around to supporting it.

Right now, when price of bitcoin falling every day, and no so many ''big'' merchants accepted bitcoin, we really need to advertise bitcoin as much as we can.
We still didn't make breakthrough with bitcoin and people still see bitcoin as investment, not as new, revolutionary, decentralized and bank free currency, ideal for online payments.
We have to change this wrong concept of BTC and Google can help in this process.

Google being one of the top search engine that people usually visit, Bitcoin would likely to gain more recognition. Having more recognition would allow more people to know about Bitcoin and thus adopting it.

The scary thing is, Google has enough money to buy insanel amounts of mining power and all of the Bitcoins on sale, if they wanted to attack it..

But would it be worth it? Anyone with money can potentially attack it, example NSA or governments but the benefits they may gain from attacking it is very small, they need a lot of ASICs, space and electricity to attack it. Isn't logical since if Bitcoin dies, the ASICs they have would also be potentially useless.

I don't think it will effecting the price anyhow but maybe in the long run as by increasing the public awareness

Bitcoin needs no one buy people wanting to be miners and transactions happening, this is the pillar of BTC and this has been happening for years now without Google.

No, Bitcoin doesn't need Google. Google is the opposite of the ideas behind Bitcoin.

Google wants to create a monopoly, control everything. They are completely centralized, abusing privacy, and cooperate with everyone who guarantees more profit, no matter if it's some shady secret service agency or totalitarian regime.

The only reason they are so widely used is because their products are user friendly and free, and people are too ignorant to see the danger that will come when they feed them with their data.

True. Bitcoin can stand alone without Google, but once Google integrated bitcoin, we can assume that they can and may control bitcoin given the power that they have over the internet and the tech world.

It's a given fact that Google can help bitcoin gain publicity over the internet and to the digital world, but the strings stop in there. Bitcoin doesn't need Google that much, and through the span of years, the bitcoin community proved strong without the acknowledgement or integration of other third-party sites or services.
