As Hurricane Katrina was winding down to an F2, I could see from the Chinook helicopter, commandeered by my colleague and I, the French Quarter totally flooded. Worse, thousands of puppies were struggling for their lives in the freezing Gulf waters. I instantly knew what I had to do - parachute out of the bird since the pilot wasn't versed in landing Chinooks on narrow streets. Once in the water, all the puppies swam to me, allowing them to be rescued. Due to ongoing litigation, I'm unable to comment on how I kept a scantily clad lady named Trixie company and warm for the next few horrendous days, with the exception that she was on an adult beverages and blackberry Jell-O® diet with NBC reneging on the bill.
