Title: p2pool local hash rate question
Post by: rhutcheson8183 on February 08, 2015, 03:14:18 PM
I am new to p2pool and I just got my own local node going.  Everything seems to be worrking (no errors).  I have GUIMiner running at 460Mhash/s but p2pool shows a local hash rate of 0H/s.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

GUI miner - not heard of that for years....

Sounds like a configuration issue - please post your settings in the p2pool thread & I'm sure someone can help you. Having said that, 460Mhash/s is just above zero for btc mining so I'm not surprised  ;)

460MH/s... for BTC p2pool mining?  Good luck with that... you can expect that to take over 3.5 YEARS to find a share.

p2pool is not A good choice for low hashing.

460MH/s is not a good choice for any kind of BTC mining.  You'd do better hitting faucets.

Yeah... 460GH/s is passable on p2pool - you can see how my S3s have been faring by looking at the comparison test I'm running on OgNasty's pool (standard p2pool vs a proprietary implementation of traditional front end on p2pool backbone).  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=891298.0

LOL... As I stated in my first reply, at current share difficulty it would take the OP over 3.5 years to expect to find a share for p2pool.

Here is one of my S3's that found a share in less than a hour after restarting a short while ago.
