The camp, lead by UK and Poland, along with Lithuania, Latvia.etc want to give arms to the Kiev junta. The other camp, led by France, Italy and Germany is against that idea.

I think the external politics of it are very interesting. USA basically stirred the pot, got everyone against Russia, but that seems to be fading now. China never went for it, in fact the whole BRICs seems to side with Russia, now Greece and France seem on board. Latvia punished itself economically by implementing sanctions against Russian singers last year - now 3 festivals have been pulled from Jurmala, which will result in about $100 million loss for Latvia. And I've heard that Lithuania has incurred losses of $1 billion after their agricultural exports were banned by Russia. Remember that the Lithuanian population is 30% lower than it was 25 years ago. Now even more people will emigrate. |
