Title: New to the Fourms, have a few questions.
Post by: Sevenout on February 09, 2015, 08:57:47 PM
Hi all, been a lurker for a while and have read many posts. I am a long time poker player online and live.
I recently got into bitcoin and the other alt coins.
I usually play on Bovada and seals, but always look for another place to play.
If anyone has any advice with a safe Bitcoin poker room or casino online it would be much appreciated.
Also as far as anyone's opinion on a wallet as I have coinbase and xapo.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
   Thank you.
Also my apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

I use MultiBit, which stores your wallet on your own computer, which is way more secure.

I can recommend FortuneJack: https://fortunejack.com/affiliate/158109/
I have been doing an advertisement campaign for them for quite some time and may recommend them as a reliable site with quite nice and interesting offer.

I'd greatly recommend you FortuneJacks website. I've been in their sig campaigns and I've played a few games there (btw I rarely, almost never, play any casino or betting games) and loved it.

I would strongly recommend electrum.

If anyone has any advice with a safe Bitcoin poker room or casino online it would be much appreciated.

You just have to follow people's signatures, to get an idea about gambling sites.
There are plenty around.  You can also try Luckybit (featured in my signature) :)

Never trust online wallets. Use offline ones like multibit/electrum etc.
Online wallets can dissapear at any moment and your bitcoins will also dissapear

Thanks everyone for all the information.
Also looking for something that's iPhone and or Mac compatible,
But I do agree with the replies that I have gotten that online wallets can just disappear, like some online poker rooms. ( wish I still had that money Ultimate Bet and Minted) lol.

Sealswithclubs and Betcoin poker are your best bets for poker. These 2 sites have existed since a long time.

Been playing on seals for a long time, it's a great place to play. But always looking for other options as most times tables are slow to fill up there. ( at least on east coast time)

I use MultiBit, which stores your wallet on your own computer, which is way more secure.

It's only secure as long as you are. Make sure you protect your funds as much as possible. Keep large amounts offline and make sure all your wallets are encrypted and your computer is clean and safe from viruses.

Even basic bitcoin-qt does store your coins on your own computer.

You've come into the right place. For storage, try using a lite wallet (a wallet that doesn't require downloading gigabits of data from the blockchain). Such examples are MultiBit and Electrum. As for the poker thing, try hanging around the gambling section. That thread is updated frequently by poker sites and you may also want to check out their latest offers to new members in their site.

Welcome to BTT and to the world of bitcoin.  ;)

As for the wallets, there is also a plethora of topics in this section. You may read on or two, just to get the idea.
