Hey,

I want to buy some altcoins but i would like some ideas of what people are holding then i can shortlist the ones i think sound good and do more research.

It's just there are so many i don't know where to start lol

What i am looking for is what you are holding and why?

Is it long term or short?

Are the community active?

Thanks in advance for any help making my decision.

LTC, VIA, SFR and probably NOBLE. XCP is looking as a good investment too.

P.S. All of them are for the long run.
P.S.2. If you are looking for people's opinions about coins here in the forum you will most likely receive about 150 suggestions for which you will not have enough money. :)

Nxt is pretty good to invest in. (do your own research before investing)

I'd say Monero and FIBRE, both long term.
Both innovative in their own way, both have active devs and community.

Keep up with your Info for all coins, a couple of picks I would invest in are SPR & DRK for both Short & Long Term Investment & Ever Improving Features.

Darkcoin i Belive is a Good coin , i'd be surprise if the whole universe dont decide to start using it honestly.

B.  Its The Only of its Kind -  Mined from hard drive space ( Proof Of Capacity)
C.  Active dev adding new features frequantly
D.  The first coin to introduce Smart Contracts and Automatic Payments to the Crypto world
E.  The price has been Consistantly Trending Upward for over 3 months now.

Proof Of Capacity Mining should be the future of Crypto Mining,  Especially with entire mining data centers being shut down due to unprofitable mining ( aka energy cost outweighs profit)   Meanwhile Burst coin doesnt Juice up the energy bill!

I like the look of Monero see it has a active community and it's quite big it also has a small supply of coins which is good again imo will look into them further. thank you.

As i am here late that would be difficult to keep up with all coins that's why i am asking for opinions so i can narrow down what people believe are good coins then i do my research and keep up with them plus any others that i notice from now.

See Drk has been going this month now looking at http://coinmarketcap.com/ (http://coinmarketcap.com/) just looked at SPR that would have been good to get in there when it was 5k sat peaking mid 60k add them to short list to look into.

Thank you but i have held 'just' Bitcoin for to long looking to spread my wings and get into a few.

Not to say i wont be holding Bitcoin because i am and i will.

Out of curiosity what happens in a month?
I looking into DRK it is mainly a drug coin so i see i cannot really see it ever being anything other than that, not to say that's not profitable because it may well be very.

SPR UP80% SINCE this post uno up 75% next coin to rise is Ocupy maybe 200% or more :P

I'm holding on PPC and lots other coins.I would recommend you buying PPC cause it's being actively developed (Search :P)

If I have more fund to gamble on alts, I'll put it on DRK, NXT, and CLAM. Then invest CLAM on Just-Dice so it'll grow everyday :D

DRK i have looked into but checking charts i will not be holding indefinitely looks like a pump that will follow the last pump, so i class that as a short term although i maybe wrong.

Have looked into NXT also and that seems to have held it's price well over the last months even with development but for some reason price has not really moved  ???

Will see what Clam is about wont be using just-dice though i class buying an altcoin enough of a gamble lol

I appreciate the links and info thank you just had a little look on cryptomarketcap and see it has held roughly $1 since December as you have said and just 3million supply is that right?

After research if i am into it the problem would/could be actually getting the coin only one exchange i could get it from as the rest are Chinese and CNY.

Do you have plans on introducing them to Bittrex or Poloniex or maybe even Bter?

Yes, we have contacted Poloniex and Bittrex along with many other English exchanges this week. Bittrex responded that they've received our request, but a the community's requests are a driving force behind their decisions to add coins. I am from the US and I've recently joined the YBCoin team as the head of English marketing, so I've been working on engaging the community as a whole. Cryptsy does have YBC but I would not recommend buying it there at this time as their wallet is in maintenance and if they will not fix it by 2/24/15 then the coins will be invalidated (Check out ANN thread for more info on that matter). I believe that Cryptsy will fix the wallet before the deadline.

I'll be continuing to seek out exchanges to add YBC and adding them to our ANN thread as they are listed. Get a hold of me if you have any questions about YBC.

clams would be good buy if you can buy at 0.001 or less.if dooglus removes clams from jd it's worth nothing.

Invest in the 2.0 coins.

Bitshares, Next and Etherium when its released. With Etherium just wait for the inevitable dump, then buy when prices are low. Bitshares and Next are cheap now.

No need to invest in 1.0 coins, seeing as your holding BTC you have the king of 1.0.

Coins can evolve, no need to jump off the 1.0 edge so quickly.
Either way I say EXCL. With their market coming it's a producer by default.

Yeah i hold Bitcoin and XCP although took a bit of a dip on it it's not the end it's still a good coin just bad press with overstock.

Been looking into NXT and i will be getting some seems to have held it's ground and continually being developed i like what i have read so far, Etherium will defiantly look into as well thanks for the advice  ;)

Have looked into Bitshares but i am really not sure yet i will follow up on them.

 

Yet to look into EXCL but will do that tomorrow when i look more into Bitshares, market is that a trading goods market?

I found Bitbay it had an eventful start lol but i like the markets the dev is working on as i sell on ebay and sick of their 12% fee's with paypal etc decentralized market cant be bad.

There is a saying when there is blood on the streets is the time to buy Bay lost some blood.

EXCL exclusive coin is a must buy imo
