Google and Square announced Thursday that they were working on new payment systems that would be able to accept Bitcoin. The move is expected to heat things up in the payments market in general, and with Apple Pay, in particular. I'm not liking the may part of this headline. Everytime someone says somebody may be accepting bitcoin it usually turns out that they don't.

It's just the author speculating wildly. Google already decided against supporting Bitcoin for Google Wallet, so it's very unlikely that they will support it for similar systems.

I highly doubt that Google will carry this on. They're not very Bitcoin friendly. But it would be amazing if they did! And the next step would be acceping Bitcoin on the Play Store
