Title: How much is the "Fair" amount ?
Post by: Madness on February 13, 2015, 02:40:46 PM
Hey there,
I wanted to know what people thinks about this and how much do they think a faucet should be paying , like a fair amount of Satoshi's . Simply fair . not abused and not too low . (take in consideration that the owner of faucet should make profit from Ads , captcha's etc ...  )

I think the minimum should be 1k/hour satoshi at-least. But most faucets do not allow this because they fear they won't make enough money and they'll dry up but the fact is if you don't have visitors you won't get any hits at all.

I am sure most will disagree with this but that's just my point of view.

From a free-market laissez-faire capitalist point of view the fair payout is whatever keeps you clicking and keeps the faucet in business.

I agree. Well put.

First go for smaller amounts and when it comes old, use adsense and then icrease your payout to 1000/2 hours or even 1000/24 Hours, so for solving 1 captcha you could get 1000 Satoshis which isn't bad and you will get good traffic.

IMHO Moonbit, Alien Faucet and WeekendBitcoin is faucets which seems fair.

Thanks for your answer Muhammed .
Do you have any idea about the average amount that the faucets you just mentioned are giving per hour please ?

I think this is an irrelevant question and what is fair depends on what the person is willing to accept. Faucets pay pittance because it's only affordable for them to do so. They can't really go out paying decent or 'fair' amounts because they take so little money in from adverts. Faucets are only really used by newbs who don't know any better trying to get their hands on some free coins but they'd be better spending their time elsewhere.

That's why I'am asking .
I mean what is the Maximum amount I could give on my faucet but ... always with having a decent amount of profit coming .

Use http://makingmoneyhoney.com/calcPayouts.htm to calculate average payout. There is a VIP list which would give you highest paying faucet based on real calculation.

You are wrong! People who have free electricity and internet also use faucet.

Well that depends on how much money you're taking in. You'll have to work that out for yourself and adjust it accordingly over time.

What does having free electricity and internet have to do with anything? This isn't mining.

So you think we only have to pay electricity and internet fees when mining? When you use faucets, you only get small amounts which you can't even cover your electricity & internet fees and as a result, you would be wasting money by donating money to faucets through your traffic and captha-solving but it will help other poor people who have free internet access.

~100k satoshis
