Lose Pays 0.00000001 to 0.00000003
Last digit equals the 1st/2nd/3rd 12 that won.

this is on the fist 12, but not the second and third, you might want to put it there just to be consistent

Used to be  this way but then I decided to simply send the number the ball lands on due to my testers complaining about not being able to keep stats and run their gambling systems.

Fixed now as well.

yup, they all are correct, the site looks great, i look forward to losing alot of money on here and having fun doing it :D my address is 1A5QFrDmpYPU8ndfG2xFQxd4Q1W6sJTLew , but while i was testing i got lucky and won .2 btc from you, so nothing is necessary. if you could display a hash of the roll before the roll then i think you will get alot more people because they won't have to trust you, they will just have to trust math. i wish you luck on this site and will be a regular on it

tip sent, thanks again, Glad you like the site.

Currently I use a static secret plus the bets txid in sha512 to generate the result.
The users will be able to verify the result once the secret is released (a bit clumsy atm I know).

Id like to get some javascript / java that does the maths for the user created but java is not my forte currently.

Thinking ahead Im looking at using twitter to announce new secrets, max bet adjustments and large winners.
The code already supports a twitter feed but I use that for remote monitoring, to the average user it will look like garbage.

thanks to whoever is currently running a martingale bot against my site :) Im actually flattered it happened this quickly.

The user may have noticed I fixed the even payouts. I had a typo in my code where even was paying out on odd numbers not even, not that the botter seemed to mind.

It took me a while to find the FAQ.  The big yellow underlined link-looking "PLEASE SEE THE FAQ" isn't actually a link.  The "FAQ" link is hidden inside the roulette table itself.

You're missing the 'bet 2', 'bet 3', 'bet 4', 'bet 6' bets.  Usually it's possible to bet on groups of numbers like that.

In the FAQ:

Quote
Q> Are you on any bitcoin forums ?

A> No, I occasionally lurk on #bitcoin but I shall be signing up shortly to announce the public test.

The question isn't in bold like all the other questions, and the answer is incorrect.  :)

Quote
Q> How do you work out the senders address ?

Missing apostrophe in 'senders'.

This took me many nights of starting at bitcoind

Hi Dooglus :)

I have not done the grouping bets yet but they are being considered.
I pulled 1 section of the FAQ (determining senders address) as we are now 1000 tx's into the public test without fault and the previous private test had the  same number without issue.

I have also adjusted the number selection code to balance the distribution of even/odd red/back etc.
Some Individual numbers seem to have a 0.02% edge over others if you do the stats currently, I will update the FAQ shortly with the new rule shortly.

if gamblers are interested (and Im sure they are) I will throw up my stats on the number distribution.
From my checks it seems with the current house edge and using a private secret the slight edge of 0.02% is negligible.

From the SatoshiDice thread:

I hope we are not derailing satoshidice's thread here :P
for a table containing 65 numbers I would use FF not FFFF ;)

I will pm dooglus and discuss further.
Dooglus you are welcome to share anything technical I discuss with you in PM - I just dont want to spam the SD thread to much ;)

If you use FF instead of FFFF, you will get 256 different numbers, from 0 to 255.  There's no fair way of mapping those to 65 different numbers.  256/65 = 3.938 so most numbers would come up 4-in-256 times, and some would come up 3-in-256 times.

If you have 64 numbers then it's much easier - every number comes up 4-in-256 times, since 256/64 = 4.

That does seem to be a good table design, the current spread while not perfect is "good enough" tm when a secret is included.
Roulette tables are often re-weighted in casinos for example.

The main table will stay up as is, but we shall soon be offering alternate table layouts for gamblers.
The public beta test is going extremely well thanks to all our gamers and also helpful forum members like yourself and fireduck of satoshidice.

If time permits tomorrow I will be creating a twitter feed which will also be embedded on the site. The twitter feed will announce wins/ losses etc.

Some people have questioned our choice of using static html, we considered many options but in the end decided the safest model had complete separation between public web space and the SQL server + bitcoind. The second benefit is speed, the website loads instantaneously even on the slowest connection and being plain html enables proxies to cache the site with ease.

Code:
339458893vr4rfgbrgbrtb4t545bvHBBG(&BybyybvVGHfy453457u81hk KL n VGCfdcyerCCfv,./,.;

We did have single rule change to correct fairness for the player midway so only later calculations will be correct unless you use the older formula sorry, but this is a public test ;)

New features coming: last 20 numbers rolled (help you grind those stats) via bultin twitter feed.

We would like to announce big winners as a way of promoting the site but as some players may prefer to remain anonymous they may not like us advertising their 18btc win + txid + address. Thoughts ?

Your big winning bets are already public since your bet addresses are known.  Anyone can look up all the results on the blockchain.

If people want to be anonymous they need to make sure they can't be linked to their bet transaction, which is their responsibility, not yours.

So I say go ahead and list the biggest winners and biggest losers, just like SatoshiDice does on their front page.

Our first 2 weeks of public testing have gone extremely well, thank you so much for playing on our  table.

Just noted an error in the FAQ

Quote
Winning:
0.00000016 is added to your winnings.
 So you would recieve:
 0.200000XX (eg 0.20000016).
Losing:
 you will recieve: 0.20000016

Bolded should be 0.00000016, should it not?

Otherwise looks good, look foward to wasting some money  :D

Can you explain how the ladder game works please?  I can't see how you arrived at the house edge numbers you state.

To pick a simple example:

Code:
Bad Baby !

Jackpot: 0.015 BTC
Jackpot Kicker: 0.0375 BTC
Jackpot Donation: 25%
Jackpot Trigger: 0
Jackpot Count: 0
Payout: 97.125%
Min Bet: 0.02 BTC
Max Bet: 0.5 BTC
1ChKqdVbe3S9RZ2qYyykgZN6kHbr5qyiwR

4  :   300.0000% ( 1.50000000 BTC ) + prog jackpot of 0.015 BTC
3  :     5.0000% ( 0.02500000 BTC )
2  :     2.0000% ( 0.01000000 BTC )
1  :     1.0000% ( 0.00500000 BTC )

The 4 returns total to 308%.  So that's a 77% payout (308/4).  I don't see how you get from there to the claimed 97.125% payout.  If I add on the 25% jackpot donation I get 102%, so that's not it.

See my confusion?  :)

It would be useful to have a full description of how the game works.  There's no mention of the word "kicker" except for in the game table itself, so I'm not sure what that means.  Is that the amount you initialise the jackpot at when it's won?  No, it can't be because the jackpot is currently smaller than the kicker in the quoted example above.

Sorry for that, we are working on a much nicer html page ;)
We recently had someone ask the same questions for our litecoin ladders.

Jackpot Counts, Trigger, Kicker and Donations

Trigger

The number the count must equal to collect the jackpot.
eg 4, requires the jackpot number to be hit 3 times and on the forth time the player collects the jackpot.
Only max bets can collect the trigger jackpot, but any size bet can increase the counter if it hits the jackpot number.

A trigger allows games to build a respectable jackpot over time, see our D20 game for an example.

Count

The number of times the jackpot has been hit this round.
The count is reset when the jackpot is collected (some games requires a trigger).

Kicker

When the jackpot is collected, the new jackpot is kicked with this amount.

Donation

The percentage of a players losses that are contributed to the jackpot.
eg: player bets 1, wins 0.5 loss = 0.5. Donation = 10%, 0.05 is donated to the jackpot.

The 4 returns total to 308%.  So that's a 77% payout (308/4).  I don't see how you get from there to the claimed 97.125% payout.  If I add on the 25% jackpot donation I get 102%, so that's not it.

Donation

The percentage of a players losses that are contributed to the jackpot.
eg: player bets 1, wins 0.5 loss = 0.5. Donation = 10%, 0.05 is donated to the jackpot.

OK, so in the example I quoted, 25% of losses are put back into the pot.  There's a 77% payout from the raw percentages, so 23% is lost.  25% of 23% is 5.75% which eventually goes back to the player, so the total payout seems to be 77% + 5.75% = 82.75%.

Where am I going wrong now?

Are you claiming that the theoretical payout is 97.125%, or just that that's what you've paid out so far?

The average payout for Bad Baby ! is 97.13%
This includes, jackpot kicker, average round jackpot donations.

A round is how many results are picked before the jackpot is won - for this game it averages out to 4 game results per round.

There will of course be cases when the payout average for a single round is higher than the average for all rounds.
For this game it would be as simple as collecting the jackpot on the 1st result of the round.

The opposite could also happen where a round lasts an unusually long time, the jackpot itself would  be huge but due to the kicker being contributed one per round the payout average for that round may be slightly lower.

Max bet for single numbers is now 0.5 btc.
All other max bets are now 2 btc.

all games (roulette, rock paper scissors, ladders, etc) now run off a single engine.
We run a copy of this engine for each currency we support, currently 2 (ltc and btc).

Work will begin shortly on special roulette bets.

code monkey has begun work on allowing multiple bets to be placed in the one transaction.
This allows players to make several bets on the roulette table for each ball drop.
