Title: And so begins the new crash.

OTC prices are already around the 200 mark with big volumes being sold.

This is a huge indicator for upcoming big dumps.

Short and sell now or hold the bag.

I'd agree with kwuk right now. Things are looking weak again after this past rally. Maybe. Not sub 200 though.

Below $200 is not realistic at all. Nice try though.
$300 More likely at least so I'm buying more and holding.

We found a very thick support around 200 area, but noone can tell what's gonna happen. This stupid situation in Europe is scaring big money that won't invest in such a risky market when the system is on the verge of collapsing.

I would also like to point out that since February 1st shorting would have been the quickest way to lose money. See for yourself how the market has developed. But yea go ahead and short sell on margin. Lose everything.

This is a dumb statement and this only applies to someone who opened up a short on Feb 1st and didn't do any additional trading.  Most people who use leverage are very active traders, so I would have to disagree.

I have to agree. I do work with stop loss every time I go short. Lost a few bucks on the latest rally, but this is neglectible compared to the profits made during the last 15 month. Feel sorry for the hodler fools though...

Sure you made good profits in the past months I'm strictly talking about the market from this month onward. From here shorting got way more risky.

what makes you think that ? Lots of coins about to flood the market this year and downtrend still intact... once the downtrend is broken, I change my mind.... but it currently does not look like that. I believe beeing long is more risky, hence I am either short or flat.

Cool handle, Kwukduck.  Your anus must be raw and bleeding -- only explanation for your unfettered vitriol.   Nobody will hold your bag (as empty as it is and as much as you want that).

It's Chinese new year, what you expect? It's obvious that volumes have decreased!
Wait for a week or two and it's going back to normal.
But yeah, it's better to spread "speculations" and try to earn some satoshi from the ..uninformed ones.

What dump , the price seem pretty stable to me , It didn't go under 230$ the last couple of weeks as far as I know .
It dosen't change the fact that I'am wondering why the price didn't crash like hell since a lot of big Exchangers lost shitload of money and got hacked => they shutted down tho .

You can check the price your self instead of accusing me of ignorance : http://preev.com/
I've been checking it the whole week and nothing unusual happened to be honest , Unless I missed it then that's another thing .

No one ever looks farther than their own bias here anymore. Except you.  :D

As you point out, it's the biggest holiday on the Chinese calendar. Saying it is a crash is like saying there is an annual Christmas crash in the U.S.

I'm really curious whether these threads are really launched in order to try to influence the price. And even more interested whether there's any cause-effect relation between people posting there threads and people selling their coins...

I'm pretty sure you'd see a graph with an exponentially decreasing causation of thread posts to price fluctuation. I remember when every 'big'ish news story would cause significant price change responses, even some which were FUD or fraud too. Nowadays the news/forums factor has much less effect on price volatility.

Given that some old-timers are making these posts - It might be the case.

Probably not any cause-effect relationship when the author is kwukduck.

I doubt theese threads are being made trying to shake down some holders to sell, since there is little chance of having the influence to big players who still hold the game.
Bitcoin price is quite unpredictable, and even those who are trading it from start have a hard time making significant profits, unless you have the time to play by the old rule,
wait for unrealistic grow-sell, wait for unrealistic low fall, and rebuy, but since those time periods are so far apart, many traders rather gamble short term trading than waiting.

cheers

I'm in Thailand at the moment, which has a large quotient of Chinese people at this time of year.  New year as I understand it starts on the 19th February (2015) and they're rolling it into the weekend (until the 22nd), if that makes any difference...

I think the threads by newbies with zero activity are often launched in order to try to influence the price. When a thread's started by an old-timer I'm not so sure about it. All the posts they have made over the years have got to count for something.
