Title: Send money on Blockchain without fee?
Post by: Codeah on February 19, 2015, 08:39:13 AM
Is it possible to send satoshi on blockchain without fee? Because when you send 1000 satoshi it takes 10,000 satoshi from you away :(

I do not think blockchain will allow you, and it will provide you with a notice that it some more satoshi to send your amount.

What about FaucetBox. They send without fee. Right?

If you transfer small amounts, the fee also is huge while if you are transferring amounts like 0.001-0.1 BTC, the fee charged is barely 0.02 USD and so it is better to receive huge amounts and transfer big amounts.

The fee does not really depend on the service you use. They just try to avoid that your transaction gets "stuck". If your input is high and old enough, e.g. 1 bitcoin with ~1 day worth of confirmations, the priority should be high enough for your transaction to be confirmed without a fee. Keep in mind though that if you create an output that is considered dust (<=5460 Satoshi[1]) your transaction will not be relayed by common nodes. It might get confirmed in the end, but you will have a hard time to get your transaction to the miners.

Maybe if you can tell us why you want to send 1000 Satoshi to someone, we could suggest an alternative solution. Off-chain transactions would one that comes to mind.

WHy would someone send 1000 satoshi ? Thats way less than a cent.
As for sending it, you can, but will take a lot of time to confirm.

to my knowledge, no shipping costs when confirmation is too long and the cost will be free

Last time I sent one, took 2 weeks to confirm. So not worth the time.

I've always been curious if the Coinbase online wallet sends bitcoins without a fee or just pays it for you (since you generally don't have to pay a fee at Coinbase). Anyone in the know?

No fee => the transaction never confirm => you will not receive or sending successfully

Because when you send 1000 satoshi it takes 10,000 satoshi from you away

You need to sent about 10 times of 1000 at once if you afraid of loss

If you send small amount bitcoin without including fee, your transaction won't be confirmed by network. But if you send big amount of BTC, you can send it without adding fee.
And remember, multiple input on transaction will add more fee automatically.

don't know why an average person would not include 0,0001btc for sending coins.
it's not worth waiting hours or days to save yourself 0,0001....

It will be confirmed , but would take a lot more time than a normal transaction ,as priority just decreases. But can take days or weeks to process.
