Title: Position and Outlook poll: 2015
Post by: ravenjt on February 23, 2015, 02:24:13 PM
There has been a lot of talk about how a person's Bitcoin holdings (or not) affects their outlook.
This poll seeks to understand that relationship.

The poll involves two questions, which provide the codes above.

Question 1: Do you own Bitcoin and if so, what was your average purchase price (if you have done a lot of short term trading, just go for a typical price for your major purchases):
(A): Yes I have BTC. I paid less than $200 each on average
(B): Yes I have BTC. I paid more than $200 each on average
(C): No, I have no BTC.

Question 2: What do you think the price of BTC will be at the end of 2015.
(1): Significantly higher than it is today (>$350)
(2): Roughly the same as it is today (say $150-$350)
(3): Significantly lower than it is today (<$150)

Put the answers together to get your vote: eg A2 etc
Thanks

B1, my average isn't really high though, maybe $280, I personally think that some currency transfer companies will start to utilize Bitcoin and the price will increase a lot.

A1. I'd imagine they'll be closer to $1000 by the end of the year.

B1 here. My average entry price is slightly higher than $200. I think we may see the price around $400 by the year end, but I wouldn't call it "significantly higher" than today, just higher than today. Significantly higher would mean above $500, but that is the scenario I see as unlikely to happen this year.

Brilliant poll design. Asking two questions in one functions as an excellent antispam filter.  :D

Don't own any, and won't buy when they drop below $50 sometime later this year.

If it gets to 500$ by end of the year, and remains stabile for a month or so, that would indicate that the next year will be a pure bull run year because of halving.
I am not so optimistic, so i would say that we are going to remain at about this price at the years end, end of next year maybe 500-600 range.

cheers

The poll is not yet showing any clear sign of bias between the A's and the B's.
Perhaps we need more votes, but perhaps there is little difference between them?

Not many votes yet from the C's yet, which I expected to be split between the arch-doomsters ("I have warned you before...") and the undecided potential investors ("should I invest?"), but perhaps there are not so many of them around now? I can name more than 3 though!

Come on people, a few more votes please so we can make some sense of the results.
Don't be shy, it is anonymous.

Interesting pool results. 34 out of 51 voters expect the price to be significantly higher than today, no matter whether the bought above or below $200.
Possibly still too few voted, and the results may be not fully representative, but that may be the positive sentiment we need to start another bull.

B2 here. I made some mistake when I bought it higher at 300 range but at least managed to salvage back the loss when I grabbed some cheap coins when it dropped to 200. Eventually that gets averaged out. Anyway, I still have some cash left but for now, still waiting for the right time to buy.
I don't expect price to jump significantly by year end. It could ever drop below the psychological 100 level so it's pretty hard to predict. Anyway my hope still lies when the next halving occurs.
