I still don't see a problem with TrueCrypt. The devs suddenly dropped it with no real reason. A security audit was performed and no security issues have been found. The no comment is pretty much the canary in the mine though. If it was anything else I'm sure they would have spoken more openly on why they stopped. There were rumors that an agency has backdoored the 7.*version again just rumors and everyone just says be vigilant. Yes I find very difficult to believe they dropped so easly without a real word,faking security issues,and Yes,like dverything good,seems like agencies want to give the touch for being in control of every kind of situation, like for example I red some cases on Wikipedia where they tried to recover files unsuccessfully. Probably wouldn't matter if your HDD firmware was compromised.
