Title: Need help with SP10 - not booting normally Post by: klondike_bar on February 27, 2015, 11:36:06 PM I just got a pair of Sp10 units and am having a lot of trouble getting either to boot.
I know that its supposed to take 3-5minutes for a cold boot, but after 15minutes they are still acting the same: 1) plugged in 2) psu fans turn on, system fans ramp to full for ~5seconds 3) system fans turn off, psu fan stays on 4) a few seconds later system fans come on for 5-10seconds, stop, then come on for a second or so before stopping again. 5) repeat as above. pretty much the entire time the green led on the front is flashing and the PSU led is solid. myminer.io gives no ip address, same for my router and 'advanced ip scanner'. any ideas? I have no idea about the specifics for SP10, nor what you mean by 'advanced ip scanner', but the best way I know to discover a device IP address, no matter what the subnet is and even if it's statically configured, is the good old tcpdump: Code: # tcpdump -i <interface> arp Best results if you plug it back to back on a dedicated interface, bringing the PHY link up and down (i.e. plug/unplug the cable). Of course it assumes that the device will send at least one packet for an ARP request to be made, but in my real world experience, it's much more efficient than IP scanners that are generally limited to the scope of your LAN subnet. Then of course, if the address originating the ARP request is outside the subnet, you'll need to reconfigure your host address and/or change the subnet to 0.0.0.0 before you can reach it on layer 3+ |
