Title: Battle of the Altcoins: LITECOIN vs SOLIDCOIN (bet on which will succeed)
Post by: Luceo on August 01, 2012, 03:39:03 AM
Current exchange rate is ~2 Solidcoin (Microcash) to 1 Litecoin.

BTC / SC
Bid : 0.0030
Ask : 0.0037

BTC / LTC
Bid : 0.0065
Ask : 0.0067

I've set up a bet at Bets of Bitcoin (link (http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=523)) where fans of either can put their money where their mouth is and show that they actually believe in their favored altcoin.

As always with Bets of Bitcoin, earlier bets are worth more than later ones, so get in now and have your say.

If you think 1 Litecoin will be worth MORE than 2 Solidcoin in 6 months, AGREE with the statement.

If you think 1 Litecoin will be worth EQUAL TO OR LESS than 2 Solidcoin in 6 months, DISAGREE with the statement.

Not sure whether to put this here or in gambling, feel free to move it mods.

No one cares...especially about solidcoin.

This is silly. We don't even know the economics of Microcash. How can we know which will be valued more in 6 months?

What if RealSolid decided that the total number of MC will be capped at 3 million? Since Litecoins will have 84 million coins, Microcash could have a market cap 1/10 the size of Litecoin and still be priced higher than Litecoin. Or what if RealSolid decided to premine a billion MC? Then chances are MC will be less than half the price of LTC. Without this kind of information, it would be stupid to take a bet on either side.

You should give information about the current price rate on Vircurex.

BTC / SC
Bid : 0.0030
Ask : 0.0037

BTC / LTC
Bid : 0.0065
Ask : 0.0067

We can work on what we do have.

Microcash will have a premine only equal to the number of Solidcoins in circulation, minus those in the trusted nodes.

For the rest, we will have to rely on speculation.

Edit: Thanks VelvetLeaf

Another premine?

Like the other previous post said....PREMINE ALL THE COINS ALREADY. Then distribute them among yourselves and jerk each other off...

i refuse to use a "cryptocurrency" with "trusted nodes" so from my viewpoint solidcoin has already failed in that aspect.

keep in mind i am invested into litecoins, though.

I have a feeling MC will have the higher price, but I think Litecoin will still be more profitable to mine. I think this is stupid though.

I have a feeling MC will have the higher price, but I think Litecoin will be more profitable to mine still.

Can't say there is much to be had when solidcoin soilers have to create a "bail out RS" fund in order for the project to be completed.

From their forum it looks like they only got 50btc pledged of the 250btc asked for.

So much for support.

Why would relative price determine the level of success? Unless this is meant to be just a gamble, which I don't see much point in.

Well, current relative price is 2:1.

If Solidcoin is more successful than Litecoin, the price should slip so that 2 Solidcoin is worth more than 1 Litecoin.

If Litecoin is more successful than Solidcoin, the price should slip so that 1 Litecoin is worth more than 2 Solidcoin.

There are other measures of relative success, but none as simple to measure.

Suppose I didn't think about what causes price fluctuation, lol. Explains why I don't pour hundreds of bucks into speculation.

After all the talk and trolling that the SC crew of scum went through to convince the masses of SC/MC being the best thing ever and that Realsolid is such a savior, it sure shows how low of a person Realsolid/Coinhunter really is...even after taking 250 BTC in August from the Microcash community members on their forum saying he would finish the project then didn't.

Pathetic.  :P
