Title: BlockChain.info disconnected
Post by: newIndia on February 28, 2015, 11:17:56 AM
https://blockchain.info/connected-nodes = 0

Is there anything to worry about my coins ? I have the PaperWallet downloaded which has the Address/PrivKey (most probably in WIF starting with '5').

As long as you have your private keys you are fine. Here[1] is more about the situation.

In fact I used to know that I am safe. But, this topic makes me think twice => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=971023.0. What if my private keys dont correspond to the public keys ? Is there any way to check that securely offline ? I dont have Bitcoin-QT.

What's the issue?

blockchain.info looks to be working fine.

What's the issue?

blockchain.info looks to be working fine.

It's currently not connected to any node.

Hopefully a minor issue and they'll get it sorted soon.

Apparently you can still send funds from your BC wallet using this trick:

Just use this since you can still generate TXs through blockchain.info:

Please use this to push your TX through to the network: https://btc.blockr.io/tx/push

Find your TX in hex format by adding "?format=hex" to the end of the blockchain.info TX url.

Then paste that number into: https://btc.blockr.io/tx/push and click 'push immediately'!

blockchain.info can't show the transaction in real time at this moment.
Why?

I read about that and honestly I am not sure if this is a general problem. I have problems following AnalizeSituation due to their english but what I get boils down to: I did a backup of the wrong stuff. As long as you have a private key in WIF format you should not have the same problems. WIF format is supported by most other wallets.

blockchain.info can't show the transaction in real time at this moment.
Why?

Because they dont know about other transactions, they are cut of from the network.

You can save the HTML of bitaddress.org and have a look on the Wallet Details tab.

Yes, other wallets are not affected.

and start confirming :>

Depends. If you created the TX with blockchain.info you need some other way to broadcast it.

I think his issue was he exported in Base58 and the method he used to import imported as uncompressed key, giving the "wrong" address. I sent him a PM to fix it via
https://brainwallet.github.io/#converter  (convert to B58Check, so it can be imported in the bitaddress Wallet Details tab)

Yes I just checked and it's working. But I only checked balance of some addresses because I don't use their wallet.

Looks like they are stuck at block 345546 - blockr.io says 345550 and blocktrail also 345550.

Yes this is the "last block" on blockchain.info :

but the real last block of the blockchain is :

Is it not working again?

Everything is fine.
It seems to be receiving transactions just fine (although this may be from their own node only), however it seems to be stuck at block 345546

If you wish to send a transaction and use blockchain.info's wallet then you should create it with blockchain.info, view the tx in hex format and then push it with your full node

Right, and other options would be http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/pushtxn.php and https://coinb.in/#broadcast as well. However using your qt client (that is synched) is probably best IMO (if you can)

For some reason they are not relaying nor receiving information from other nodes. There could be a number of reasons for this. Without any kind of official announcement (likely from their twitter (https://twitter.com/blockchain)), saying that anything specific is wrong would be speculation

They are connected to the web (port 80) but they are not connected to bitcoin node network (port 8333).

Yes and also https://insight.bitpay.com/tx/send . There are a lot of "push service online" everyone can use one of them for move their funds from blockchain.info to another address ( on another wallet).

The worse could be getting their wallet's data corrupt(and not having any backup). Is this possible in this scenario?

Yes. All the blocks seem to have synced now. Who is the owner of bc.info and I guess they should update the info of the recent happening on twitter or on blog.

Problem was blockchain.info's servers not being connected to other bitcoin nodes, thus they cannot broadcast transaction to other nodes (=no confirmation on block).

I don't know if this is fixed or not - I'm on Android, and have limited data access.
