All the newbies want to get bitcoins for free, but the easiest, fastest, and most convenient way to get bitcoins is to just buy them. You can spend weeks clicking on faucets to get a few dollars worth of bitcoins, or you can buy them this afternoon -- your choice.

Faucets are a waste of time..

You have other ways to get bitcoins around here besides buying them, for starters - a signature campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0)

Must correct you there:

Step One: NEVER EVER get an Exchange wallet

Exchanges are bad m'kay?!

Get a wallet that you actualy own. Do not put trust in exchanges, bitcoin was made to get away from banking. SO DO NOT ENTRUST EXCHANGES LIKE WE TRUSTED BANKS. It will be the downfall of mankind if we do not learn from that mistake.

wew, you suggest newly user create a wallet using exchange?
that's a bad start, put coins in wallet is not a good idea since many hack attempt in exchange.
and it will be hard to get good amount of coins if you still collect from faucet
try signature campaign, which give you better income than faucets

Thanks for all the replies

1) Exchanges are okay to keep a few satoshis (but I have updated "Step one" to make it clearer)
2) Faucets are one way to get a few satoshis quickly... I personally prefer playing games (Step three)

You need 0.5usd to start using Quatloo Trader so doing faucets and playing games in 2 days you should have enough to get access to the software.

Then you can start trading and see if you want to invest some real cash.

Bitcoins is a risky investment. People should not buy to invest, I think they should use it as a payment system. Unless they want to learn about trading.

newly updated step one is good, it gives warning to user about don't keep large amount of coins on exchange :)
no problem for faucet anyways, i was faucet hunter when i still newbie in bitcoin worlds, that's make me understand how hard to get bitcoin for free
so i learned another method and give me a chance to get free bitcoin, it starts from faucet!

a correction for this :
Cryptospot (1 free GHZ for making an account)
GHS instead GHZ :D

Just the time you spend reading the guide - you could be woking at McDonalds and earning money to buy bitcoin.
Faucets are a waste of time, unless it's a game you really would play anyway.

A lot of people don't know about Curecoin/Foldingcoin and Quatloo Trader

The guide is not only about Faucets

We all know faucets are a waste of time

but thanks for your input

for sure faucets are waste of time, but every beginner goes through the faucets.

i kinda get your point. i think it is better to make a wallet on a trusted exchanger to receive all those small amounts of satoshi or dusts created by faucets and games, ... so that you don't have to deal with it.
but after that it is best to go to a decent wallet instead
