Title: GPU Problem? Post by: cointessential on May 24, 2011, 10:32:57 PM I upgraded from a single 5770 to a 5770 with a 5830. Everything was flawless with the 5770 alone, but the GPU load and Voltage looks odd when I added the other card. Plus, the speed seems to start out ok, but the longer I've run it, it has dropped in speed almost in half. Not sure what to do. i7 920 w/ 750watt power supply

Post by: EPiSKiNG on May 24, 2011, 10:36:37 PM Your temps for the 57** card is too high. The VRM temps are probably at 120 which means it's throttling the card to prevent overheating.

But it is clearly running. Have you opened the case and looked at it to make sure the blades are actually moving, that the blades haven't melted off the spindle? Your hardware monitor is showing it at 0 RPM in every picture. The speed percentage isn't a monitor it's an indicator of the speed your software is attempting to run it at. If it is in fact actually spinning somehow I'd consider the possibility that the card's heatsink has become detached. Title: Re: GPU Problem? The Hardware monitor showed 0 RPM before I installed the 5830 today. So, that's either the fault of the manufacturer or something happened before I received the card. Title: Re: GPU Problem? I shut down for a few minutes then restarted and everything was working fine for about 5 minutes until the 5770 reached the temperature. I've downclocked the 5770 to 600 MHz and and continuing testing.
