That is too small amount to invest anywhere.
Do not "invest" in gambling, you'll lose all.
If you're good at market trades, you can try to trade BTC to some alt coin and back to BTC by time.
I done that a few times with small profit, but any profit is better then loss.

You having 1BTC is already an investment.

I believe that a lot of things you will invest in are going to rise and fall with bitcoin unless it's pretty successful. If you want to invest with BTC the best thing to do is buy Bitcoin and hold onto it.

Not sure you will get only 5% risk? meaning 95% chance you have a winning investment. You could try and start a micro loaning business but always demand collateral to get closer to your 5% risk  :)

try to day-trade it on some exchange, but invest only 10% of it, and make it(1 btc) your entire bankroll

I'd reccomend not doing this , alot of big websites are for some reason getting hacked. just look at all the exchanges, and its not really a great investment either.
My reccomendation is buying and selling stuff , then you have to actually do smth but there's usually a very low risk.

You can buy with your bitcoin as well (https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_xrp).  Some aseets are really performing good existing long time. Probably investing in gambling sites is a good idea. Gambling sites have some level of house edge and is always making profit.
But the idea of issuing loan is a bit risky, especially for the newbies here, who don't have some sense of judgement to distinguish the potential scammers and honest loanees.

Trading and loaning is the way to go.

Try to do some day trading on altcoin exchanges but do not invest all your 1 btc on it on one chosen altcoin, diversify.

200 leverage? What are the margin calls? recently there have been 3% swings in both directions, I mean yesterday after Yellen's patient/impatient stuff the rate moved 2%.
Almost everyone is short Eur/USD, so it is hard to move the market further. There also seems to be strong resistance at 1.05, so that could limit upside too.

I guess he was being light-hearted, but I guess someone who has to seriously consider where they will invest $260, should not be using a 200x leverage for forex trading, especially not at the moment.

Just hold the bitcoin till it rises as at certain value, like $100 difference.

Then buy back in, when the $100 difference is gone when its on a downward trend, this is all seen on charts though.

Why would someone put 1 btc in danger over some lame alt coin, thats a pump and dump. And that also means the guy has to keep up with every alt coin news which I doubt the guy would do.

No seriously, try hourlycoins, you can get 100%+ after 100 hours. Only wait for reset it will come in half month maybe, then you will have very big chance to get second BTC

Suggesting being a lender over a trader of altcoins has to be one of the most ridiculous "recommendations" I have seen yet around here.


Even if you don't get in on some early UltraCoin (and obviously diversify in alts, don't go all in) becoming a lender to people here is a sure way to end up with loss rather than profit.

I would go with some high PoS coin. Minting is the new mining and I thing there are a few very interesting coins which are PoW and PoS at the same time.

I wouldn't recommend gambling as a safe way for investing, try your like in safe trading or just keep the bitcoin it may be more worth than any other invesment ;D

Hi lumen, i think some forum user you what to say, one Bitcoin is not much to invest, but beware that gambling can lose it fast. If you do not need that Bitcoin you can trade, if you are unsure save it.

I would recommend altcoin arbitrage. It's not risky if you get your timing right and if you know what you're doing.
Look between the various alt pairs at Poloniex and Cryptsy. If you trade in large volumes you'll pull of some decent profits.

Also if you're able to, trade between bitstamp and coinbase, there's about a $4 difference.

Hard to move large volume of fiat between bitstamp and coinbase without getting red flag.

Yeah, I thought so. I haven't traded between Coinbase since my country hasn't been allowed to as of yet.

Several advice for you

1. Trading altcoins on poloniex, bitttex, cryptsy and so forth.
2. Trading fiat/bitcoin on fiat exchanges like bitstamp, bitfinex, btc-e.
3. Gamble, but it's not a good choice for "invest", it's high risk high return.

The best one is second choice, if you have good trading experience before, trading altcoin is very risky, you may be scammed by devs, I was scammed by vootcoin dev for 60BTC, be careful when you trade altcoins.

If you are only buying 1 btc, just store it in paper somewhere safe and forget about it for 10 years.

May be you will hit lottery some days.

Don't gamble. That's not very good advice, gambling isn't about profiting, it's actually just a form of entertainment powered by money and since games are easy to beat you're going to find yourself getting greedy. Don't come near gambling especially when you've worked hard for what you earned.  It's easy to lose your money.

Even if you got only 1 BTC, I would think you either hold it and do nothing or diversify it in a few cloudmining companies and some altcoin maybe.
